A question I'm seeing a lot is "Why didnt Tim effect the camera in the interview?"

What if he escaped the clutches somehow? -theres going to be some countering to this point-

OR

What if he can control the distortion? Idk, its farfetched, but that would explain why he didnt distort it during the interview, or else we would ALL know it was Tim. And he may simply not remember ANY of this. Just like Jay, and more than likely, just like Alex. So, Tim not remembering any of whats going on, just that he needs to take those pills for the coughing.

ANOTHER POINT.

What if the coughing has something to do with someone dying in a fire? Painting is of a burning forest. Coughing + Smoke? Farfetched idea # alot.

Coughing = forest fire?

Feeling fucking cold = ?

Don't think the coughing and the painting are really linked.

And yeah, there isn't a clear answer as to why Tim didn't affect the interview tape. How could someone control that?

Mayhaps at that point, Tim has learned to live with the affliction, and the madness, and becomes good at hiding it.

Or I watch too much Dexter.

I think that question is strange to answer considering all of the audio/visual distortion. OoG, yes its impossible to simply control it. But we are working with a fictional story here. And in fictional stories, fucked up shit happens.

Well maybe the whole feeling cold is part of this weird sickness. Like the chills.

I just think we can definitely say that the bad cough is a huge piece of the story considering J addressed his cough in his tweets when he said he was visiting the doctor. Seems like he's pointing out to us that theres something up with that cough.

Darnit, GET IN BED CAPATAINCANNIBAL.

Alright, I'll be back tomorrow. Can't wait to see if ToTheArk responds!

In the #20 Video thread, someone brought up the point that these symptoms come on in waves.

Example: J. had a sudden fit of coughing in 16. Tim might have just not been having a cough attack, during the interview. Which is a little too convenient.

These guys are probably just making this up as they go along so plot holes could happen.

SPOILER ALERT: SNAPE KILLS SLENDER MAN

This video seems to have created a few plotholes:

-Tim's "drive" to the house despite the fact that he apparently lived right next door
-No distortion of the camera in 15 but it's present in every other video Tim's in
-The coughing fits

Either they rushed to get this entry out and didn't consider everything or there's something (or a few things) we don't know yet. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I had a thought while lying in bed (this ARG will be the death of me, seriously) so I just had to come back. I think these three points are just things that are of significance that haven't been figured out yet. I really hope they didn't have any continuity errors or that'll really ruin things.

Anyways my thought that is COMPLETELY random and has nothing to do with entry 20 -

Way back in an older entry when Alex is in the car with Brian, who was in the back seat of the car? Was it that other girl that was in the movie (from the gazebo)? They don't show a shot of WHO was in the back but Brian does say "I thought you were talking to her" and then Alex later says, just before Brian does his lines, "Don't say anything, the camera will pick it up". I thought he was talking to Brian about something but now it seems he was talking to whoever was in the back seat.

It probably isn't of any importance but who knows. Just thought I'd point those out.

Okay, seriously, I need to go to bed now.

I might get trouted for this, but what if its all pre-recorded? (with over 250 pages of responses, its easy to miss already said things)

That would mean there aren't as many plot holes as we think, and that we can't really mess with the sites.

In quite a few tweets, J mentioned that he was going to the doctor's. So it seems he KNOWS something is up with his coughing fits and that they're not normal. I think the fact that he hinted to his fits in tweets (although keep in mind he never addressed his coughing in the videos yet) as a sort of clue that the strange health conditions he and Tim had have something important to do with the story.

This makes a good point, as well as the the post that I read somewhere on these forums that suggested that the feeling cold linked to having a fever.

Relate fever or sickness to the timeline on the Wiki and we get:

Marble Hornets Wiki wrote:
September 19, 2009: J didn't sleep last night because he was shaking. J is thinking of returning to the doctor.

September 5, 2009: J goes to the doctor to follow up on his blackout the day prior.

August 28, 2009: J posts on his twitter that he's been really sick the last week, but is still searching through tapes.

August 11, 2009: J tweets again that he is feeling ill, and later he tweets to point out the appearance of a new totheark video: the Deluge Video.

July 28, 2009: J is feeling better and returns to the videos. Shortly afterwards, Entry 10 goes up. Analysis begins on The Entries.

July 26, 2009: J has a 104 degree fever and cannot look through the tapes. Suggestion that Slender Man can only be seen by digital means is suggested.

Well, Tim may not have been home, but driven from somewhere else first. And since it does seem like the "illness" comes in waves, so do effects. Alex didn't often have tape distortions even when he was in a very advanced stage, and even SM doesn't always cause those kinds of problems. (Perhaps he wills it to happen, along with memory loss?) I'm starting to wonder if this "curse" is also similar to The Ring: You can rid yourself of it if you offer someone else in your place. Maybe this latest entry is further along the timeline than we think, and Alex is so much better because he passed his "curse" to Tim? Just a thought.

if you watch the interview, Jay says "you live in the middle of nowhere" Tim and Jay make it a point to say that Tim and Brian in the relative sense, as in no one lives near between them in the middle of rural setting

I really wish that we could see his face in the interview. Usually facial expressions can really give off whether or not they are making shit up...

sorry for posting on older stuff, but I'm re-watching the interview with Tim and here's some of my notes..

- He's kind of slow to respond to most of these questions...

- When he starts talking about Alex recording himself, he just starts saying the words as if he memorized them almost; what I'm getting at is that he didn't really stutter in any of the words as he spoke...

- When asked about Brian's whereabouts he was REALLY slow to respond which is slightly suspicious

- He was scratching himself with a pencil when he brings up the dead animals, that's a slight indication that something's up

- Lastly, when Jay starts talking about the Slenderman sighting in the park, Tim starts to fidget around with the script. That's also a sign that he is uncomfortable with something in the conversation to the point that he says that he has to leave...very interesting...

Like I said, these are just notes I took as they happened taken from my perspective. I'm in a psychology class and we have been learning about deception in people lately...thought I'd bring this up. Take it for what it is, I guess...

So the video has a seizure at the presentation of the new script. As soon as J says "This new script!" the camera is like NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Why??

Also, I wonder if J forgot that he was the script supervisor. That's a lot to forget.

I think it's pretty similar to the one totheark is wearing in Entry #19.
