There is no trace of any book of that nature, an author named robert bachman, or TIME magazine ever talking about that book.

Edit: dont even bother with Google, Barnes and Noble, Borders, or amazon i cecked them already and nothing popped up in the results

There's a typo in the "Time" quote. "a urban legend" should be "an urban legend."

Oops.

Also, that font would never ever pass a publisher, unless it was like, self published.

The Slender Mein?

So how could a book about based off of a couple of pictures on an internet forum be a book? It'd be a page or 2.

You made it yourself, and you're not fooling anyone. Stop trying to be the cool kid. You're really annoying and every time you make a new thread, I hear a collective groan.

This is bullshit. CuriouslyHigh has elaborations on exactly how transparent this is as well, having largely to do with the time it takes to compile and publish a book compared to the time Slendy has existed at all, anywhere, but I have my own thoughts, which are...

Well, whoever made that graphic has a good eye for design. A VERY good eye. The image and colors are balanced and compelling. It's simple and striking. Done right, this would ABSOLUTELY be a book that would catch my eye and make me want to pick it up and hold it and find out more about it.

But here's where they went wrong.

First of all, no author would ever let his name appear on the cover looking like an inverted footnote. The author wants to be seen and known and recognized, but the text is too small and too difficult to read in that font and color (the color is good, the font is not). The title, also, is far too small for a book cover. It's well-placed for ART, but a real book cover would have the title much larger and not bother having it be symmetrical in relation to the image of the white suit and black tie. A larger title that isn't placed symmetrically like that will not detract from the impact of the design or upset the balance. The alleged quote from "TIME" is almost as large as the book's subtitle and larger than the author's introduction. And least importantly but still significantly, the dimensions of the image are wrong for a standard book cover and no book about an internet meme that's existed for less than a year is going to have a budget for custom printing.

In short, this is bullshit. This is very PRETTY bullshit from a person who I suspect is either educated to some degree in design or has a real natural gift for it, but it is still bullshit.

lol no.

You can clearly see the step down lines from the fucking Line tool. It's a horrible piece of shit, and this person should be very, very ashamed for trying to pass this off as real.

Unless they're 12.
In which case, four for you, Glen Coco.

You go, Glen Coco.

If I were art-director I would kill anyone who does covers like this.
