With that being said - I won't be posting the contents of the .doc file here yet.

Jim - if you read this, I urge you not to either. Not yet.

But you get cool password protected documents and we got...pictures.

You're a queen, you're included in the 'King and queen business should stay to them" bit. Also, not quite cool. I can't wrap my head around it totally.

I'm wracking my brain for Todd and AIWS, but I can't come up with anything. I have AIWS myself, and I think I posted something on my facebook about it recently, but I doubt it has anything to do with me.

Also, are all the chess positions taken? What do we do if we're not one?

As far as Todd, it could've been a mistype on Vlad's part. He doesn't usually mistype, but it could've been. I'm not sure it's extremely important at this point.

Not sure about chess positions. I meant to ask him earlier but he abruptly left.

James' board still needs 1 knight and 7 pawns, and Jim's board needs 2 rooks and 6 pawns. I don't know if you can still sign up to be a piece, though...the decisions about that were supposed to be in already.

That and the Queen one are the only new galleries I can see. Bishop, Rook, Pawn likely have their own galleries.

Where do you see this gallery? I am a knight but don't see that album on Vlad's Facebook...is that where it is? (I know it's solved already but would like to see them anyway.)

Also, when Vlad said to Telos,

Quote:
The french one with AIWS will help you to knight. I must protect my connections.
I will right when I can.

...I think he was referring to me, since my ARG Facebook profile is Rêveuse Bleue and, as I mentioned earlier, he put a comment on one of my photos implying that it seemed to show I have AIWS.

Edit: also, sorry for the double post Sad.

Click on his photos and there's a gallery called "knights alone". I haven't solved anything. I haven't even looked at it since I first found it, lol. Been busy with King/Queen stuff Razz

Edit: The name of the flower is "Butterfly Bush". It's native to northwestern china and japan. No clue what the other picture means yet.

Ok, according to Wikipedia there is a popular garden variety of the butterfly bush known as the Black Knight.

I would guess that the black knight on the board is supposed to make a move consistent with whatever the 2nd picture is telling us.

Edit: in fact, if you do a Google Search for "butterfly bush black knight", the first image result is the very image Vlad posted!

Corvus frugilegus (species:Rook) is the title of the Rooks' photo album. Comment: "What happens between these 4 walls.."

Photo 1: The Wikipedia image of a rook (upside down)
Photo 2: M.C. Esher "butterflies" lithograph (right side up)
Photo 3: Portrait of an unidentified composer? wearing eye glasses and a musical score overlaid on the image. (upside down)

The lithograph's label is "Board? 896 8" referring imo to Chess Problem #896 where it seems mate is in 7.

The b/w portrait's label is "Notes of worth". Identified the specific musical notes which are likely the squares' number and direction of Black's next move. However, that portrait is upside down so I defer to my king (Telos) to assess the board.

Also, Am guessing and giggling that the score is a movement from Beethoven's Duet With Two Obligato Eyeglasses For Viola And Violoncello. If so, Vlad has a wicked Cool sense of humor.

ETA: Hi and welcome, dreamerblue. Am also hoping Jim will see this & still have time to choose. Willing to be pwned there. Laughing

Vlad's new pics

New picture set up on Vlads photos, "On foot, On Throne"
First is another butterfly, caption 1 of 8, 2 of 16... more bloody maths I'll be bound. The butterfly is a Soldier butterfly.
Second is another jewellery peice of a butterfly, caption VEJ167 the peice I think is from the victorian era...
http://www.victorianelegance.com/sig4.html OK it's from this site but has been rotated counter clockwise. Same ref number Very Happy
Info on that on the site says "This silvertone butterfly is sure to brighten any outfit. The butterfly is done in a combination of polished and patterned silvertone. The wings are decorated with an openwork design with an inner set of wings done entirely in patterned silvertone. The pin is in very good condition and measures approximately 2 1/2" wide and approximately 2" long. The back is marked, "Sarah Cov" with the copyright symbol. "
Unsure of relevance.
Third is a most curious pic, black background with a pawn cut out from mirrored material with a reflection seen in, of a clock and a mans face. Caption, Piece Together.
Vlad is chatting this morning:
Yesterday
23:19Vladimir
A pawn? You do not prefer a more straightforward approach dear Sarah? Rooks are much more powerful, have easier movement and, frankly, are less fodder than the little ones. However, they will always remain rooks and cannot ascend...

23:20Sarah
you think I didn't notice?
The queen is the power behind the throne
should I stay interested long enough, i could be the power behind the power Very HappyVery Happy
heh heh
besides, heirarchy states that i should know my place as you should know yours

23:24Vladimir
ules change. 'Facts' change. Ask your king.

Today

Have you read up on AIWS - it is very interesting as I note fro your profile you are into art and animation. It has another name too...
from* - cold hands once again

12:32Sarah
it's cold here too

Alice in Wonderland syndrome eh...
ah, Charles' copy to Alice was sold today

she is crawling out the woodwork
Curiouser and curiouser, I think I might have this....
aka Todds syndromw

Coincidence? smile Now your rival king has his 'todd' - he seemed puzzled by it - might need some pawn to assist him with his thinking!
Oh goodness. Just read what I posted. Please excuse me.

Then he signed off.

Todd? Uh?

Since I can't view the pics I reckon they are particular to the Pawns' Photo Album and "1 of 8" etc. is just the pawns' (Soldiers) count off on the 2 boards.

Believe Vlad is paying you a personal compliment with the Sarah silvertone butterfly and taking a lil dig at Jim's misperceptions. Dunno

metamorphosis

Uh, could be to do with change, larva to a butterfly, pawn to a queen, given my statement..... *shrug* Still having trouble id-ing the face in the pawn though. Perhaps it's the clock that's the relevant bit?

This is the picture Vlad just posted. Sounds like the same one amandel was talking about earlier. "Girls Hindered With A Cherubic Frill" is what he's calling it.

Quote:

I'll name it in one B!

Playing with the pieces due to boredom.

Girls Hindered With A Cherubic Frill

is the caption.

Some activity from Claire, too

More 'friends', thanks Vanssa - sigh - I remember a time when people would say hello and stuff. Don't know any of thes epople or anything but there we go - all wanting a slice of the vanness Uncle paper action probably. Well, joke's o them. No post. again

She posted yesterday about having a weird dream/series of images. I asked her if she could remember it/them:

Quote:
Yes. Vividly. A crow [or other big black bird - can never tell difference] was watching me. Felt really pervy you know. Not in a good way either Wink
Anyhow the bird flew off and it was just a bombardment of random images. Not all of them [images flashed fast] but there were a lot of butterflies, all flapping their wings in a glass case. O, and a big rabbit, like the one in Donnie dArko, looking at a pocket watch.

The black bird is probably a raven. Vanessa had a similar dream about a raven and a "pale fire". I wonder if Frank (the rabbit from Donnie Darko) symbolizes either being late for a very important date, or time is running out for Alice.
