[EMAIL] 8/30 Conversations with Dana

I'm actually having a non-game conversation with Dana. I figured if I treat her like a real person, and not just a character in a game, it might be interesting.

Here's her response and my original letter below it. There is one little part she asked me not to tell relating to Les Miz, so I'm going to honor that.

Quote:

Hi Tricia!
lol, Lez Miz songs running through your head? Here's the part she asked me not to tell. Conversation continues. You know, Les Miz was actually a huge hit over here in
Shanghai a few years ago. China only recently started to import glitzy
musicals... Sound of Music just closed and Phantom is coming soon.
It's a big prestige thing for Shanghai, you know, to have an
uncensored, international performing arts scene. Not that Sound of
Music is exactly cutting edge world culture! lol
I hope you get to visit some of the places you mentioned soon. I know
exactly what you mean about mystical Ireland... I've never been, but I
imagine it as a very misty, enchanting place. (All the pubs sound
good, too!) And somehow I feel like visiting a place like Ireland
would bring you luck, somehow, for the rest of your life. Is that
crazy? Like the geographies we put ourselves into seep into our lives
somehow even after we move on... people sometimes say that places
keep the energy of people who have passed through them, but I think it
works the other way... we keep the energy of spaces we pass through.
Well. I wonder what I'm going to be carrying around from Asia for the
rest of my life. I don't think you can really tell until you go home
and recognize exactly how you feel different. I hope you get to go
somewhere and come home feeling differently soon, too... if that's
what you want.
Anyway, this email is really short on axon-talk, hope you don't mind
me taking you up on your offer just to talk. Sometimes it's good in
the middle of all this problem-solving to talk about things that don't
require solutions... they just are.
xo.
Dana

Bellebet! You know how to talk, girl! These PMs are LOVING you! I haven't gotten any emails from Dana, even though I've sent a couple as "updates" and a couple as just talking... So I don't know... But you got a cool response!!! Congrats! (It figures though, you mention a part that you shouldn't mention, and BOOM, I want to know about it... like, "Don't touch this big, red button..." I totally want to now push the big, red button!) Anyway, awesome writing and good bein' a friend to Dana. She sure needs it right now. (I wonder how Melissa has gotten at tracking her now... (remember, she said she had processes...?...)

Don't push the big, red, candy-like button! Very Happy

Anyhow, thanks DM. For some reason, it actually means a lot she/the PMs responded. Makes the game all that much real and the danger of Melissa even more so. I think I'm going to miss "Dana" when this is all over.

Dana always seems to start replying to emails just around the time she updates her blog. Nicely in-character, I think... give her time to get to an Internet cafe, catch up, and then start replying and commenting on the new situation. A good touch.

First off, here's a BIG red button for you to push - http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/main.html =P Be sure to push it twice!

Interesting email. Perhaps we should start sending emails just to talk to her? Might be an interesting idea.

lol, CJ... I'm not really jealous or anything... I'm just saying I don't understand the rhyme or reason... it just must be that Bellebet, being of the female persuasion has something intangible in her emails that I, of the male persuasion cannot reach. Subtlety, perhaps sensitivity, I don't know... but I was actually just congratulating Bellebet.

I'll tell you what I would LOVE though... I would die laughing if Dana put something on her Blog about the WTFOMGBBQ!?!11! people on the blog... Dude! In fact, I'm going to send a message to her now asking about that. I'll keep it in-game, and give her "an out" to mention it in-game, but I would LOVE to see something about it next time...

August 22nd Email From Dana.

I originally did not post this because the E-mail didn't really seem to add anything important to the community effort. Maybe I was wrong, they seem to be directed to us personally, yet do regard us Keepers as a whole. So here's the 2nd E-Mail from Dana that I have recieved (for what it's worth):

"Hi Zac,
I'm really glad to hear from you again, and that you and your loved
ones got through through the hurricane just fine. I can only imagine
what it must be like to be in the thick of that, even though you wrote
that they're relatively easy to get through when you see them coming.
I missed the worst of the typhoon over here, and even then, it was
really frightening. I'm sure your neighbors appreciated your support
so much.
-d.
p.s. Your analogy between the hurricane and the axons going hot seems
eerily apt to me. I don't know whether the house we've built is
strong enough either, but I do have a lot of faith and confidence in
you all, for what it's worth...

Sorry I haven't been able to pitch in for a while, Dana, but we just
went through a hurricane here in Florida. We made it through fine,
though not everyone had the same luck. I've spent days helping clear
debris. Good clean work.

It's been a wakeup call, though. Hurricanes are easy to get through,
we can see them coming from so far away. It's all about being
prepared. We've had a month to get ready for whatever ilovebees.com is
going to turn into, but I can't help feeling that we're missing
something important. That we aren't ready.

SitRep: An entity claiming to be an AI from the future hijacks your
website in order to repair itself. The AI sees your attempts to fix
the site as an attempt on it's "life". So it threatens to retaliate.
You flee to Asia.

The AI, Melissa (the Queen), seems to be surrounded by three other
programs: SPDR, the Pious Flee, & the Sleeping Princess. SPDR seems to
be a basic self-repair function, The Flea is beginning to look like a
virus sent by Melissa's enemies to corrupt her, & the best we have for
the Princess is that she is some sort of "rollback" version of
Melissa.

Now it seems that the Flea has usurped SPDR, having fooled the Queen
into deleting it. The Flea now commands a position of influence. The
Princess is communicating with us, and seems to hint that everyone but
herself isn't so nice, and yet she seems to be playing her own games.

Melissa has "metastasized" and opened "axons" all over the U.S. and
the best we can figure is to play things her way and visit these axon
sites at specific times.

I smell an ambush.

If Melissa's memories are in fact real...we are dealing with a huge
threat to mankind. Where's Spidey or the FF when you need them? I'm
going to suggest that you keep all of these events recorded, on the
off chance that this turns out to be an elaborate hoax. Might make a
good movie some day, or a decent concept for a video game.

Of course I have a feeling we're not going to get that lucky. The
winds are picking up & I'm not sure that the house we've built is
strong enough.

Take care Dana & find a lee if things get bad.

-Zac 0(_)+"
