The cop may not necessarily be talking about the Covenant war when he says "back in my day." After all, even the SPARTAN project was created before the Covenant war started - they were originally supposed to put down smugglers and insurgents (which many government officials predicted would break the human space civilization apart very quickly). The Covenant invasion stopped insurgents (everyone bands together to help fight them), but there WERE HUGE wars before humans even knew the Covenant existed.

Spec

So, maybe, the truth that The Operator is trying to reveal is about the murder?

Uh-oh...maybe Aiden is dead now? If he was with Sophia and she was calling hysterically to one of the hacker dudes to help her and the cop killed someone who beat their girlfriend...

Creamsicle is now HOT.

Give me a second, whilst I try to put names to a transcript of pony_tail....

EDIT: creamsicle goes after asset, and, yes, she's being used because she can pass lie detector tests.

So, we have a vigilante cop.
This is presuming the "beating" was real and not faked by the cop to get Jan to help him.

I think Durga's creepy thought may be important somehow.
Quote:
A bee dies when it stings you... but it can also sting you after it's dead... curious symmetry.

Curious symmetry might be between the Operator and Durga, but what would stinging have to do with it?

Transcribing pony_tail....

I think I have the names right. During the first half of this clip, there's three instances of Star Trek communicator-like noises.

EDIT: Well, I *thought* I did...corrections made.

Kamal: It's not a girlfriend at the other end of that chatter, it's a *gangster*.

Hiroyuki: Good-looking gangster?

Kamal: Ponytail.

Hiroyuki: This is what I'm saying. You're in no position to be picky.

Kamal: I was ghosting as chatter and I sort of let him notice...

Hiroyuki: You did what? You were showing off.

Kamal: ...yeah....

Hiroyuki: For a girl....

Kamal: ...yeah....

Hiroyuki: ...for the arrangement.

Kamal: I wish you wouldn't call her that - her name is Sophia.

[car drives by]

Hiroyuki: Hmph...her name is trouble.

Kamal: What do you mean?

[seven knocks]

Hiroyuki: Did I forget to mention that a good-looking guy with a ponytail was coming up to the apartment?

[five more knocks]

Kamal: Oh no....

In "creepy," Jersey talks about how creepy it would be if someone was watching them, and Durga says that it isn't possible because she would know. What if Melissa was spying on them, thus creating the Jersay/Durga story, and Durga just couldn't detect it?

Dana also talks about "the eavesdropping game" in her recent update. This is interesting because it connects to my SPEC, and also because she mentions this:
Quote:
When we played, Mom always said we were eavesdropping on the future.

Though I highly doubt it, I might as well throw this out there. Could we be listening in on the future?

Not quite. Where you have 'Aiden' should be Kamal. Aiden is the guy with the ponytail. A gangster, who smuggles people (to/from?) earth.

durga has to be melissa, i don't see melissa listening in on durga and jersey talk, and so much matches with durga and melissa "The first thing I remember was her trying to kill me" that's what sealed the case for me :-/
