Well, I rented a car so we have more wheels (with a Hertz coupon - 3 days for $66, not bad).
So I guess I'll be there!
Now researching Cirque du Soleil tickets...
Anyone else interested? Tickets are $88 (74 for partially blocked views) on Saturday night (2 shows) - I tested both Saturday and Friday and seats seem to be available.
Sorry, that's "Mystere" at Treasure Island, and I'm more interested in "O" at the Bellagio, which costs 110, 90 or 85... Well anyway, lemme know. Crud. Sold out. Meaning tres expensive tix from ticket brokers are the only option. Never mind me . . .

When would folks like to meet for dinner/partying/etc.? I can find a good spot and get reservations, but I'd like to know when works best. My thought was to get us a big table somewhere. I'm assuming sometime Saturday afternoon or evening, and can probably set a time that still enables folks to see a show (early or late) if they want to.
Probably, doing dinnertime on Saturday works best, even for those with show tickets, as everyone has to eat. I have no preference, myself, as it's all the same to me.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Preferences?

yeppers - Saturday evening is good. Friday too, since I'll be getting in early enough.

I'll be getting in around 7pm on Friday. At that point, I can either continue the drinkerin' I've started on the plane with or without you. Saturday seems like the best day to do a big whing-ding thing to me.

Instead of a big table (at Pizza Hut, or wherever) why doesn't someone just designate a certain street and all meet in the gutter there? Cut to the chase.
Yes, I'm jealous.

This is shaping up to be a lot of fun.
As far as meeting up with people, I'm good with Saturday dinner too but I was hoping we'd also find some touristy things to do as a group (large or small).
I'll be arriving Thurs. evening so I can get together with anyone at any time on Friday. I can give my cell# to anyone who wants it and you can call me when you arrive. Steve, I'm assuming that my sprint pcs phone will work as well in Vegas as it does in Push.
My only show ticket ("O", sorry aliendial ) so far is on Sunday night so I'm really flexible.

Meeting place w/ cheap entertainment What about Fremont Street Experience?
Lots of eating places (some aren't super expensive) - does Tony Roma's take reservations? The Fremont Buffet isn't bad.
Free entertainment. Not only the hourly light show, but just people watching is often hysterical. There may even be bands playing at the 1st or 4th street stages (you just never know on a Saturday night).
From there we can always carpool to other locations (i.e. top of the Stratosphere - us locals can get the cheap tickets) or where/whatever.
Just thinking out loud. BTW, is everyone coming over 21?
I also have a postcard for a deal at Treasure Island ($89 per room on weekend nights) if someone needs it.

Heh. I just flashed on the idea of the group having to split in two at some point, with the minors going to one spot and oldsters going elsewhere...

No minors have signed up yet, AFAIK.

You lucky Vegas ARG-ers All you Lucky Vegas ARG-ers
I actually sent these ideas to SpaceBass, but my jealousy of you all going to Vegas has driven me to post here as well.
Two must Do's/See in VEGAS
1] You must go and see the Blue Man Group at the Luxor.
If you like Music or have an appreciation for LIVE performances..It totally rocks!
2] Best Margarita's in Vegas = "Ricardos" mexican restaurant in the MGM movie walk mall thingy. You can even make reservations.... Especially for a Friday night or Saturday Night.
BONUS:
3] If you like to gamble.... [I am related to a Professional Gambler.]
Play the Majestic Lion $1 slot machines in the MGM. They have an above average payoff. Usually the ones near the main walkways and intersections in the casino. Also, they usually pay off when they are close to the $2400.00 jackpot ( I think ) or whatever the NON-Tax winning limit is. I have won several $500 payoffs over the years. Two of my friends have actually won the jackpots.. $2000 +
OK.... Now go and enjoy but please give me a percentage of your winnings
sincerely
jwb

Mottjr - I sprung for "O" myself (Friday), but since I paid broker prices I didn't try to get a group.
Arriving Friday mid-day.
I'd be up for a group show event like Blue Man Group too . . .

Come on you web geeks WEBCAM! in Las Vegas.
When I've stayed at Embassy Suites, they've had instant wireless access in the rooms. Made keeping in touch easy. If one of you is staying in a hotel, everyone should rendezvous in the one with access...
Also, from the http://www.iflyswa.com site:
Las Vegas, NV
$19 each way, to/from Burbank, CA
$19 each way, to/from Los Angeles, CA
$19 each way, to/from Ontario, CA
$19 each way, to/from Orange County, CA
Don't know if any of these are still available.
