Just had a strange idea. New crappy theory:

Alex and the crew were all set up to film the movie. When they ventured in the woods, however, they attracted Slendy's attention and he began stalking them. First Tim, then Alex. Tim was being so mercilessly stalked that he began to go insane. He blamed Alex for this because he had insisted they go into the woods. The footage on the tape is Tim confronting Alex about the situation and either attacking him out of sheer insanity or killing him. If it is thee latter, it would have to be after Alex moved away. Tim is now stalking J as Masky because of his actions. He began by posting strange video responses as totheark, but when that didn't work well enough, he confronted Jay directly. Ultimately, Tim is trying to keep Jay from luring Slender Man back out.
