he sent this:
Quote:
Two opposites combine,
to form your favorite hue.
And so you'll have to work with others,
to find the initial clue.
I'm thinking that the colour for sure is red then. As for a place or number this could be harder. Iim gonna look for more clues in the first poem.

So, do these colours refer to certain numbers? Like how pink is called "a pairing of two" or red being "the number of bloodshed"?
When he says in the Pink clue "that you'll need a few more", does that refer to responses to other favourite colours? (yellow, white, etc.)
Sorry, full of questions!

Maybe they mean we should be trying to use different colors? That way we'd get more varied responses.

I said red and got:
Quote:
Red like the Apple of Adam and Eve
First they were two, and then they were three.
Then came a brother, then came blood shed
Then came the number that introduced death.

The blood shed being referred to seems to be the murder of Abel by Cain. Did God mark Cain? Perhaps that's the number we're looking for?
EDIT: Yup. The number could be 7, since God said that any who killed Cain would suffer vengeance "seven times over".

you'll see that I do too,

As a reply to my "I would say #1F8F8E :)"
Edit :
Here's what I replied with :
Quote:
Forgive me if I botch this horribly, I'm not much of a poet.
Could it be true,
what you say about each hue?
Hidden numbers in colors,
could this be a clue?

So I went ahead and sent this:
Quote:
I've thought long and hard,
And while I'm no clever bard,
I think I know the number,
I think I've got the answer.
The same as the number of deadliest sins proclaimed by heaven,
I think the number you're looking for is seven.
My poetry skills suck, but hopefully this is either the correct answer or at least nets a little more info.

Got this
Quote:
A pairing comes in many forms,
this much you say, is true.
But keep in mind that oft in life,
pairs don't only come in two

Just got this, in reply to the email I sent about the number seven.
Quote:
Your answer is very clever,
you research very tuned,
thought seven's not the answer,
think less sin and more brood.
Hmm. Maybe they're referring to the actual number of members this particular familial line had?

Got this reply back
Quote:
There is a clue in everything,
in every poem I've sent.
Not one of them is lacking this,
not in any one event.
Debating what to send back. I don't want to just jump in with knowing what he/she sent the rest of you, but, I have no clue what 'clues' are hidden in the poems.

The initial email had big open spaces. I ctrl-A'd and didn't find anything, but if the replies had any empty space, maybe there's stuff hidden there? I never got a reply to my color choice, so if someone who did could ctrl-A in there and see if there's any hidden messages, letters, whatever, that would be great.

Decided to send this, since in the context of the conversation with them, I'm totally at a loss.
Quote:
You speak in rhymes, and riddle too
Which understanding, is something this fool's brain can not do.
I've read the lines but seem to be lost,
and now this fool wonders, what would another hint cost?
As for the hidden messages thing, I'll look in to that now.
Edit :
I've got such an urge to bust out with some Headless Horseman (WoW version.)
"My flames have died, left not a spark.
I shall send you my self, to the lifeless dark!"
