appearances can be deceiving, especially in this. I think theyd put blood to make us think she is, when Mark himself could have gotten hurt.

I was kinda thinking along these same lines. With the bullet hole in the book, I was thinking it was possible Mark got shot in the hand while holding the book. And it was him who got the blood on everything else.

So what's the business with "failing Celeste" all about? I guess Lynch could have gotten her and possibly shot Mark in the process, but what value does Celeste have to him if he's already ready to kill Mark?

with the hint of a possibility of a budding love between Mark and Celeste, Lynch could be using her for leverage of some sort, a kind of "you life for hers" sort of deal. hopefully we get some new clues soon! lol.

hi guys... long time lurker, first time poster here. i just wanna tell you that you guys are awesome, and your doing a hell of a job solving these puzzles. i'm looking forward to seeing the next part unfold and hopefully i will have something to contribute soon.

Glad to have you on board Jack. Welcome to the fray.

there has been nothing new with the "Nixie tubes" right? i am so absolutely stumped on it.

As far as I'm aware, we are still waiting on additional information. We know it has something to do with tales of sailors and Reykjavik, and more specifically one that doesn't involve a tragedy. We've been told the Red Pawn a.k.a. Lynch stumbled upon the answer, but neither he, nor Mark seem to know what it is. All we know is the answer has to be 5 letters or less.

The Baldur. I know it has six letters but I think this has something to do with the clue. It's mentioned in the Frozen Triangle excerpt and though it says it ship disappeared Lutwidge says the lore should be ignored. It could also be Roald, he was the captain of the ship.
I dunno, i'm just rambling now. Just trying to stir the pot here.

You may very well be on to something. The Baldur was a ship out of Iceland, yeah? EDIT: Then again, there's also a bit in there about not ending in tragedy. The Baldur vanished...

Yes but that doesn't mean it ended in tragedy, the pages also say nothing was ever found of it. We probably still don't have enough information yet but I bet it has something to do with this.

i'm most likely looking too much into this but in the letter from Celeste there's a very obvious space between 'come' and 'let' to make way for the blood drop. so was this typed as she was bleeding and she made the space herself or did the game team do that so there wasn't any ambiguity to the word that might have been covered over in blood? remember that whoever the blood belongs to they were in possession of both the letter and the book at the same time when the blood dripped on them.

now about the blood: the blood seems to be coming from straight up, if not from a slight angle toward the top of the page. same with the book. the drops are also small and don't show a lot of 'splatter' marks which would happen from drops coming from high up. so this was close to the person bleeding at the time (like, nosebleed blood on a book you're reading type of drops). this also means there wouldn't be TON'S of blood coming from the wound but enough to simply dripped away or else there'd be bigger drops. i don't think the hole in the book was made by the same bullet that caused the blood or else there'd be much more blood simply on the book (esp around the bullet hole) instead of having just fallen on it.

So, after reading through the 2K forums a bit, I've become QUITE annoyed. A couple members on the 2K site received the same envelopes as I, but received cards in them designating pawn names and numbers. So someone just made a slip up, and forgot to include one in mine. Which is par for the course as far as my luck in life is, however I'm still wondering if there isn't a clue in the different words surrounding the seal....

Also, the picture on Mark's mirror... Two figures I originally wrote off as people, are actually garden gnomes. Any significance you think?

yeah i feel like the picture is more then just a picture, the gnomes, the rabbit, and the words too.... its says "Remember this." not "remember this?" so it seems like shes trying to get him to remember something for later as opposed to reminding him of something past.

For those who don't know, Lee Wilson Seward is supposed to be William S. Burroughs.
