I shot off a short email to J Pierre, asking if I could "know what Dept. .18 is" and "if I'm in danger?". His reply was

No.
Yes.

Makes me miss Vlad's rambling riddles a bit when you get such curt responses. I sent Vlad an email before I left for work and haven't heard anything back yet. I checked the footer of my email, too, James, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Due to the weird spacing, I Ctr+A, and didn't see anything.

Has anyone figured out Vlad's Dec 20 status update of NGBHIETNTSANSHTEUHSEADHNGTEIS ?

I tried running it as an anagram. Nothing made sense, although
"A Dab Eighteenths Nets Sign Shh Nut" made my inner 10-year-old giggle uncontrollably.

Perhaps this is why Vlad has a picture posted to his profile referring to whether the circle is a zero or an "oh"?

Anyway, the appearance of new material sparked a fire under me today, and I've updated the wiki with a bunch of stuff...I've got through updating it up to partway through page 22 of this thread. I hope you will find it useful.

Something else I decided to try, though, was to mock up some sort of representation of several linked ideas that have come up throughout this game--for example, several Ludwigs (and a Lutwidge), several references to chess, several references to butterflies, etc. All the interconnections make my brain hurt and I think it's a good idea to be able to see them all. I did a quick search and pretty much took the first free online mindmapping utility I could find, which was http://www.bubbl.us/index, and worked on a mindmap today of all the connections that came up while I was updating the wiki and/or that I was reminded of as I did that work.

Wow, dreamer, you're on top of this stuff. That mindmap thing is pretty awesome!

One thing I never mentioned and I'm not even sure it's worth mentioning...was talking to James/Telos one night on FB a couple weeks ago and we talked about Vlad's air raid conversation with him. "And children scattered everywhere, like butterflies" sparked something in my brain. It may not be related (probably not), but there's a book called I Never Saw Another Butterfly, which is made up of pictures drawn by children in the Terezin concentration camp. (Amazon link). Again, not sure if it's related, but my brain went WWII + children + butterflies = I Never Saw Another Butterly.[/url]
