Sweet, a clean slate. So, I'm definitely subscribing to the "Slendy has been stalking Alex since he was young" theory. anyone else?

As I said earlier, I'm staying with the theory that 22 was recent and Seth (TTA) is injured. If this is true, Jay will run into Alex soon.

I'm slightly new here, so can we include some contents in the first post as to what's what? I'm familiar with the obvious, except I have no idea who Seth is supposed to be. I don't remember him being mentioned in any of the entries.
Also, the trailhead's like, 300+ pages, which I kind of don't have time for.

Not asking for loads of details, just the main things and theories if that is alright.
Smile

EDIT: Wait, is Seth the guy with the camera in 22? It's half 2 in the morning so I hope you'll forgive me for not looking through those videos again haha

Am I the only one that sees Jay's newest twitter post and thinks "cue TTA with a crazy new video"?

It seems that "I may be on my own for a while." translates to "I'm about to get fucked and I have no idea"

To me, "I may be on my own for a while" translates to "I have no idea what to do next" which means J is in the same boat as us Razz

If this is true then why would he be surprised when SM shows up during marble hornets?

well, maybe his memory was faulty due to his past SM encounter(s). We have seen evidence of it with Jay, so it's not a stretch to say that Alex may have had the same problem.

Will they ever explain the backstory of Alex you think?

Well, I don't think they will tell us EVERYTHING, but they may give us tidbits of what Alex did before MH, if it pertains to what has been happening.

Laughing I hope not! We were kind of spoiled with 3 vids in about one weeks time... only a week ago. A nice gift for the holidays, I guess. That only made us thirstier.
I'm dying to know what TTA's point is. Are cryptic videos the only way they can get their point across?

As for Alex, I really hope his story comes out in more detail, but I'm afraid it might have been used to show how things went for everyone under SM's gaze. That wasn't torn apart and tossed in a tree, that is.

We started out with J and Alex, but there are so many more involved now.

Now they have to explain all the people involved.

I'm thinking TTA was really a pivotal role to release that last tape to Jay, so Jay could try to piece together what was happening to him, as well as what happened with Alex. Anonymous tipster, horror movie style. However, I doubt it'll be the last that we see of Masky or TTA, because of two things.

And for this to work, I'm going off the Masky = TTA theory.

1. TTA seems to be trying to help Jay get through this without suffering the same fate as Alex. Obviously, after what happened to him (Slenderman right there in the hallway with him while he was all baggy eyed, slack jawed and probably effectively unconscious), I don't think he was doing a very good job.

2. Masky might be Alex, now that I think about things. I am a great fan of Tim = Masky, but once you think about it, why would Tim (Someone who said he's Brian's friend, not Alex's) be in possession of the last tape? Unless of course, Masky stole it from the pile while Jay was going through it... which doesn't linearly make sense. Alex could have missed that tape while filling the bags, or possibly kept that single one for whatever cracky reason. And for whatever reason (may be paranormal, might just be for anonymity's sake), he decided to be Masky.

If Alex = TTA/Masky, that would be an incredible plot twist. He didn't want Jay to watch those tapes. But once he did, I think Alex might have wanted to save his friend from the same fate he ran into.

I'm worried for the future of the series at this point.

It almost feels to me like the creators didn't have an ending thought out, and now even they don't know what to do.

The problem is, really, that rather than really answer anything, each new entry only raises more questions. Not only that, but they seem to be actively destroying the basic facts we thought we knew.

I mean, I remember earlier on in the series, the only questions were really, to me at least, who or what is the slender man, why was he following people, and who it totheark and what's his agenda.

I think it was around the time Masky appeared, and we saw evidence of memory loss, and more strange dealings in Alex's tapes that the plot began to derail. Now, I worry that they're not going to be able to work their way out of the tangled plot and ever give us any explanations. Like Twin Peaks or something. It's just one cryptic mystery after another.

Edit: For example, we used to have a good idea of the order of Alex's tapes. Now all this new stuff throws that into disarray.

I hate to say it, but part of me agrees with The Last Gent. These thoughts have been flashing through my head since Masky appeared as well. He did come pretty far out of left field. But then I figured that the plot they had was just more complex than it first appeared to be. Recently, though, things seem to be getting more and more unexpected, what with the mysterious pipe, Alex and Seth in the basement of a previously unseen building and suchlike. At this point, I still find the series fun and engaging (Entry 22 is my favourite of the lot yet) but still I'm beginning to see more and more things just being added in without any connection to things we've seen before, and it's almost like they're making it up as they go along.

I don't yet think less of the series for these things, but I will admit that I am also concerned that they're pulling out too many plot threads at random to be able to neatly tie them all together to satisfaction before the plot gets so convoluted it becomes mostly filler.

I have faith in these guys for their construction of it all so far, but I really, really hope they can pull it all into a nice conclusion at this point. I'd be terribly disappointed if such a beautifully atmospheric production was wasted in a bad ending.
