Provided the game runs on UK time (which I'm fairly certain it does) then that's not correct. It shut down at roughly 1am UK time.

Gah. I reached a dead end on my ambition. Ran it to the end of the content. And I'd just bought 500 candles, too. Pretty much wiped me out. Opportunity for player input there, I guess. Ah, Beta.

Given that there are four previous Cities and (unless I'm missing one) four dream sequences, I just started kicking around the idea that maybe the dreams allude to the demise of each previous City.

Death by Water could point to a stolen Atlantis, which I would think would be the First City. Burial of the Dead might be related to the Second City, the potentially Egypt-ish one, or it might be the Fire Sermon.

I got a card event about digging up Fourth City relics (that I clicked out of too quickly, dangit) which said something about the Fourth City being closer to Samarkand than Rome, and Samarkand's wiki page does talk about papermaking featuring heavily in Samarkand's history, so perhaps that's a better fit for The Fire Sermon.

That leaves "Is Someone There?" for the Third City, which had five wells and good weather, and which I'm thinking might have been Zadar.

But this is getting pretty wildly speculative, so I'll end it there.

I imagine any one of us will never be able to answer them all, so let's get working together on some theories. I'm guessing there's also new content somewhere that will elucidate on these a little more than before, for example the ability to go back to New Newgate if your Suspicion rises to 5.
