Haven't we been receiving some numbers from the source code for the last month or so. How many digits have we received? Maybe it wasn't coordinates, but pieces of the authorization code. I wasn't around by the time you got these numbers so I can't try myself because I don't know all the numbers. I hope I'm in the right track

I'm hoping it understood what I was asking; I'd like to be able to put multiple guesses in one email, and it seems to be saying up to 10 is ok. But it might also mean that each user only gets 10 guesses. That would be a bit silly though.

I dunno I tried a second email with the next 14 numbers in the countdown (so 28 numerals) and got this reply...

**AUTHORIZATION.FAILED**

Threshold.Trigger.Activated

That seems to me we only get so many tries.

There were 16 numbers in those total, 8 per line.

So uh, unless I also missed this update somewhere, sunshinemine15.com has changed again. It's also got our blank code input in the source code. Err, hopefully we still have a few more guesses? D:

There was mention of a Chess Grand Master Tartakower and recently Prince Hal in the source also.

Yes there are currently 2 here in town. The newer one is a suites hotel.

I haven't sent off any password tries, so there's at least a 10 tries worth of backup here.

Hm.. What number could be 14 digits long, and be known to us in some way? Gah, I hate it when solutions turn out to be so obvious you feel you could as well be blind.

A cipher? Alphabeta-numerical A=1 etc? I'll go through my earlier correspondence with IRis just for the heck of it. Maybe there's a clue or something there.

Just a couple notes: New text at the bottom: You. Decide. When. It. Begins.
And the music is from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, I believe.

Couple of thoughts. There aren't too many things in the "real world" that are exactly 14 digits long. Diners Club credit card numbers. Some bar codes. That's about it. So my instinct is that the answer is something internal to the game; some piece of data we've already seen, or an answer to a puzzle. I don't think it's just a phone # or SSN or lat/long coordinates or anything like that.

Also, I was really confused by the response that the "security" of the code was 14!. Obviously if it truly was just a 14-digit code in base 10 the odds of guessing it would be 10^14. 14! is the number of different ways of combining the digits from 1 to 14. So, a few possibilities: one, Iris made a mistake. Given how intelligent Iris appears to be, that seems unlikely in the extreme. Two, Iris (or someone) is intentionally throwing us off the path or means something different or is just confused. This also seems unlikely since she's shown little predilection for lying, and although she does spit out random things they usually seem to be correct. Three, the code is just an *ordering*: there are 14 elements and the authorization code is just the order of those elements. In other words, the numbers 1 through 14 in some order.

I sent a message off to Iris last night asking if I'm correct about the password being an ordering, but I haven't gotten a response.

If I am right - and I'm not at all sure that I am - then we're looking for 14 things that have to be put in order. One logical source is the evidence pictures; each of the two pictures has approximately 14 objects in them. But I can't conceive of how to order them, and now the pictures appear to be down (stupid me, I didn't save a copy - did anyone else?).

This could be a total red herring but I can't shake it. Comments, questions, concerns are welcome. Talk me out of it. Smile

EDIT: Just thought of this: the focus of the game seems to be on platform 15. Is it possible that the ordering has to do with something about platforms 1 through 14? The order in which they were constructed? Destroyed? I haven't been paying enough attention; do we know anything about them?

Just a thought, Hal in 2001 the space odyssey is seen playing Poole in a game of chess, so in that context Hal might make sense referring to Hal 9000...

As Fezzik mentions above the link to the evidence page is gone and so is the authorization blanks in the source.

There are a lot of numbers on the current web page including a stack of 10 strings of 7 digit numbers in the top left corner. I turn to a more experince codebreaker for guidence there. There is also I think a 15 digit number over one of the platforms that has the red "house" around it. The bottom right has some numbers too but are hard for me to make out.

I really think the Prince Hal thing relates to Henry V since just a couple of days before there was a quote from the play in the source too.

And btw, why is there evidence being collected?

I have the same gripe here that I did about Hatshoe: it's not that we don't have any data, it's that we have *too much* data. For example we have that set of 10 7-digit numbers. Clearly there are lots of ways of extracting a 14-digit number from those. Should we try them all? Seems exhausting. What I'm looking for is a smoking gun, something that screams "I am the code!" even if it's not immediately obvious exactly what the answer is. A group of 14 odd objects of some sort, for example. 14 lines of a poem. etc.

The two things I've come up with so far are something related to Platforms 1-14, or the items in the evidence page - but even there I have an issue because generally speaking there aren't exactly 14 things in each image, one has 13 and the other has 15 depending on how exactly you count...

Oh man, this sounds really familiar. I think we all made this complaint like every friggin' day during I'm Sorry, lolz.

Anyway, I went back through all my emails looking for any string of numbers that Iris might have dropped in there when she was altering my emails sent to Craig and Shanna, but I got nothing. So I'm all out of ideas in this department, really. Well, other than maybe we should start compiling a wiki earlier this time before we get all caught up in the game ... ;P
