I got a card sometime in the past few days that would allow me to change lodgings to Mr. Iron's half abandoned mansion for free if I got my K&C rank high enough. I finally got there today. I can now hold 3 cards in my hand and I have +6 defense in k&c. I am glad I hung onto the card this whole time.

Has anyone seen a card or storylet come up that requires the "Melancholy" attribute?

I asked @Mr_Eaten for a token to remember the loved one who came and visited me recently from the surface, and got a "memento mori" -- a skull which gives me 1x Melancholy with each kill in Knife & Candle. I killed a couple people, so I now have Melancholy 2, but it just got stolen by someone killing me.

If @Mr_Eaten has killed my love from the surface I shall be quite distraught! Very Happy

I've been playing this for a few days now, insanely addictive even though nothing seems to really happen (probably b/c I'm at the start of the game). I fear I've nerfed my character by spreading points almost equally between Persuasive, Watchful and Shadowy. Seems like you only ought to specialize in either Dangerous or Shadowy AND either Persuasive or Watchful.

Totally confusing for a beginner, a starter's guide/wiki would be useful.

Anyways, I'm @staxxington on twitter, started up a new twitter account so I wasn't spamming my RL friends with Fallen London stuff every hour.

You get sent to a very interesting place where it is worthwhile failing your skill rolls.

Just as an aside, has anyone ever found the manager in a state of confusion?
