Some further things of note...

- In the video, just before it starts playing, the word "quarantined" switches for a fraction of a second to day "destroyed".

- The title of the site is "Technology Resolute may own this domain but they sure as hell can't protect it"

- There is a reference to "TechnologyResolute.net", which isn't even a registered domain.

- The registration for "outrightgaming.com" is private, but it is hosted at HostMonster.

- The "assets" logo has directory browsing enabled, which reveals this image and a "coming soon" Flash page for ORG.

- After the video plays the apparent date "03032010" appears.

So definitely related. I replied asking who he is and what he wants, we'll see what the reply is.

On another note, I'm getting a sneaking suspicion that this is the restart of Tyler Greek, an ARG I played the last time I got into then. Though, the only reason I suspect that is that the TR Corporation (or "TR Corp" as they called it) was the main bad guys in their world, it seemed, and were responsible for creating some "super humans" and starting a war against the rest of humanity.

I never finished the ARG, I got bored with ARGs in general before I finished it, but I found out recently that it imploded and was never finished, so you know, it could be related. We'll see.

Edit: Date on the video on that outrightgaming site is 03/03/2010, which is a little under two months into the future. Tyler Greek was set in the future, too, but by a couple of years. Maybe the TR corp thing is just a coincidence, I would imagine "<something> corp" is a common naming convention for evil companies in stories. Alternatively, the Tyler Greek guys could have lessened just how far into the future they are to make things easier. Who knows.

Edit 2: After paying proper attention to Nighthawk's post (sorry! Razz) I am now almost certain that this IS a restart of Tyler Greek, as the UEA (United <something> Alliance, might be Earth or something) was the other faction in their universe. Curious!

Edit 4: As mentioned in the other thread that was made for this trailhead, if you change v=1 to v=2 on the outrightgaming.com site, you get to another page with a different logo. That page has a link to a "documents" page, which has two images (one is broken as of this post), one talks about a virus named XGRV, which originated in a small town in Ohio (name is blurred, but starts with "as"), between the dates of March 3rd 2007 and August 6th 2008

Sorry to make a double post but my other one is getting a bit too long and hard to organise, so I want to make a new one to summise the info I've gotten so far.

So "Defiant" or "DM" is a hacker who has hacked the site http://outrightgaming.com/

This domain is apparently owned by a company named Technology Resolute, who's main site is http://www.trcorporation.net. The only thing on this website is a "Secure Login Field" form, which so far I have not found any clues as to a possible login.

The video page on outrightgaming.com (http://outrightgaming.com/index.php?v=1) shows the following text:

"The Following footage was recieved from location 27 on 12/27/09. The location has since been quarantined by TR members."

As you start the video, you see the logo from the main page in a red box at the bottom and the text "I Am Better Than You" appear, at which point the word "quarantined" changes briefly to "destroyed."

The video then shows a shot of the sky at an unknown location, apparently from some kind of security camera or something. The video flashes a lot and there is a bright light and a lot of lense flare.

The only other accessable page on the site as of yet is the documents page (http://outrightgaming.com/index.php?v=doc) which has two images, to one of which the link is broken.

The other, however, is a .jpg of a document (http://outrightgaming.com/assets/doc.JPG) detailing the outbreak of a virus named the "Xenomorphic Genetic Retrovirus[3X12X63]", dubbed "XGRV1." It apparently started in a small Ohio town between the dates of March 3rd 07 and August 6th 08.

I recieved an email from "Defiant" and here follows a transcript of the conversation thus far:

Note, the other image on the documents page was broken, if you're the one making this site, could you fix it? As it stands, I'll believe you, but you talk about this virus as if its already happened, yet you say the company making it doesn't know? Perhaps you could clarify, thanks.

The virus HAS already happened in small localized locations, The one mentioned in the document on the website was the first incident. I am the hacker who implemented the changes to the site, I'll work on getting those links to work.

I see, so I'm guessing this.. Technology Resolute company is behind the virus? trcorporation.net... any ideas to crack or hack that login and see what they're hiding?

Its got the same name as you have on the emails, so I'm guessing you put it on the site when you hacked it or something?

Sorry for all lthe questions, but you know, trying to get an idea of exactly what's going on.

Also, channels of communication with the others seems to have gone down, so guess I'm on my own with this for now. Are you in communication with anyone else? No one else seemed to have recieved any emails.

This is pretty much all the info we have so far.

A quick analysis of the HTML on the "Documents" page reveals that the reason "Image 1" is broken is that there is simply no link given in the HTML, so it seems either intentional or just the guy haven't got a faux file to place there.

Second, the alternative text (what is supposed to show if the image doesn't) for the broken image is "Image 1", but the alt text for the working image (doc.JPG) is "0551015", so I am assuming this is some kind of clue, perhaps a login name or password for trcorporation.net.

Note that the earlier mentioned page "http://outrightgaming.com/index.php?v=2" is actually just the index page, and any other number than 1 defaults to the index page as well, so it seems that wasn't a hidden page after all.

All I have for now, will update more as I get it.

Edit: Small edit incase people didn't realise, the "communication with the other has gone down" thing I just said because I had a about 20 minutes of being unable to access unforums Very Happy and I thought it sounded kinda cool. Rolling Eyes

 		Nah, I don't reckon, the storyline is eerily similar to that of the ARG that failed called Tyler Greek, and plus the palindromer stuff has become wierd and scattered since its countdown date, whereas this is very specific in its plot. Plus, as far as I know, neither have in any way referenced one another.

 		Maybe TR are just common "cool sounding" initials for companies or w/e then. I suppose all we can do currently is wait to and see where this goes, and then decide if its part of another ARG or not.

NB: No transmission (email, or updates on the site) yet, it seems. Impatience kills me! Mad

I don't know why, I was just recently playing [Prototype] and it mentions a town in Ohio that got struck by a virus and then contained and it was also called Hope.

 		Dont think so, as can be seen here, you can see what seem to be the first two letters, "as".

But theyre not capitalized so perhaps not.
