More creepy Russian emails!

After that last "notanymore" scare, I thought Iris might actually be conscious of the world around her, like a sentient computer.

So I tried:
Quote:
Am I speaking to Iris or Elizabeth?

And got back:
Quote:
Query.Accepted
Assigned:relay54543
PROCESSING. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

"Am I speaking to Iris or Elizabeth?"//response = toby, мое имя liz. я оба мертв и жив. как? я находился в стационаре и теперь...нигде. что-то говорит мне спать, toby. я слышу шепоты, "сон...сон...милочка liz. Код разбудит вас."//autosend//

So who's good with Russian?

Google Translate says this:
Quote:
toby, my name is liz. I was both dead and alive. How? I was in the hospital and now ... nowhere. something tells me to sleep, toby. I hear whispers, "sleep ... sleep ... my love liz. code will wake you up."

I'm gonna try asking Liz (yay! I get to speak to her informally) if she can remember a 14 digit number that's significant to her and craig and shanna.

New image! Seems like IRis is trying to give us some kind of hint....
New old song: "Untouchable", and nothing that I can see in the source code.

Appears that the woman in the latest image is wearing a uniform with insignia and has been badly burnt.

There's also a 60 there. What's that significance?

Anyways, I have an answer for why we can't email IRis at times

Now that I can bypass IRis (must've invoked Liz's conscious or something) I tried asking this:
Quote:
Liz, do not, under any circumstances listen to that voice.

Listen carefully. I can help, but I need something from you. Is there a 14 character number that is significant to you and your husband?

The voice is the voice that keeps telling Liz to sleep. Got this as a reply:

Quote:
//iamtryingtobyiamtryingreallyhardbutikeepblackingout//
ery.Accepte
As ign d:rel y<blank>
PROCES ING. . . .

" s t ere 14 c aracter nu ber that is signi icant to yo and you husband?"//resp nse = no

So because Liz keeps blacking out, IRis' email goes down. And also there's no 14 character number significant to Craig and her that she knows of.

New Image
Rank Speculation (with perhaps an emphasis on "rank")

My two cents: the 14 digit code appears to be made up of 2 seven-digit numbers (as the split in the image and the blurry last seven spaces of the code prompt seem to suggest). I think the "60" refers, both in terms of the font used and the number itself, to time.

My theory is that the 14 digit code is made up of two dates: Elizabeth's birth date and the date of her death, each expressed as a 7 digit number: either M/DD/YYYY, MM/D/YYYY, or some other combination of this formulation (i.e. the usual way dates are expressed in numbers minus any initial zeros.

That's my two cents. And for the record, yes I can make change.

I'm off to query Liz about these dates (though I'm not sure she'll be able to remember the date she died...I imagine she had more pressing matters on her mind on that date).

Cheers.

Next, on 60 minutes: the harrowing story of a woman who's death has her locked inside an artificial sentience, and the story of her husband and daughter -- only YOU can save them. Stay tuned -- all this, and more, after this commercial break!

Sweet! I'm gonna TiVo it so that I can skip forward to the part where this puzzle is finally solved (that and bypass the lame commercials). :lol

Cheers!

This could be a stretch but...

According to Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, Hades is the Abode of the Dead. Hades (the place not the greek god) contains a large pit called Tartarus. Not a nice place to visit cause it is essentially Hell.

I see your stretch and raise you a greater stretch! In the Old Testament, a "golden bowl" is used as a metaphor for life:
Eccl. 12:5-7 wrote:
For man goes to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets. [Remember your Creator] before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

A large bowl meaning maybe an important life, or someone with a long and fruitful one? In that instance, I suppose the "abode of the dead" could mean either the Christian concept of Heaven or Hell, since the phrase alone doesn't necessarily evoke a negative/fiery association. Uhhh... Poe uses the metaphor in Lenore?

first lines of stanza one wrote:
Ah, broken is the golden bowl! the spirit flown forever!
Let the bell toll!–a saintly soul floats on the Stygian river;
And, Guy de Vere, hast thou no tear?–weep now or never more!
See! on yon drear and rigid bier low lies thy love, Lenore!

Yeah, I'm grasping for straws. /out of ideas

LOL

First thought I had when I saw the 60, especially with the font type was the show 24. Happens to be starting up again tomorrow night. Maybe the episodes tomorrow will give us some clue? Razz (Probably not...)

Also, hello everyone. I'm new to this whole sort of thing. Got pulled in by a friend and here I am, 39 pages of reading later...

i check some older email accounts

So, no clue regarding the authorization code, so i checked some older email accounts from Craig and Shanna.

Quote:
babettelouSPLATgmail.com

check for autobounce

Quote:
Shanna Bell

Shanna no longer has access to e-mail. Messages sent to this account
will not be answered.

And another desperate query for Iris Wink

Quote:
irisSPLATsunshinemine15.com
Iris ...

can you provide contact to craig rogers or shanna?

*BIG FACEPALM*

It's definitely a Bricker ARG.

After my last Email to Liz, where she keeps blacking out and it explains why the email goes down so much, I fired this off:
Quote:
Damn. That code could be used to free you from where ever you are.

There's a password that I and a couple of my friends have been told to find. We're told that Craig and Shanna left it behind. Any possible hints?

GUESS WHAT IRIS SENT ME!

A link.
To the Google Cache.
That is a thread.
About DONNIE DARKO.

Well we already knew it was a Bricker ARG, so obviously IRis must have had a reason for sending us the link.

However, I'm having a hard time finding anything of note.

A couple thoughts:
date/time of the cache:
Quote:
It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on 3 Jan 2010 08:10:03 GMT.

Or perhaps classi's old testament reference would fit this comment:
Quote:

Re: Donnie Darko
i watched this movie like 2 or 3 years ago, had to watch the movie again to understand it and im still cant get it, but me and few other people think he could have been the messiah.... food for thought

Otherwise the only odd thing I noticed was that the forums are down - but that seems to go for vbulletin forums across the board.

Good catch! The checksum (or at least the sum) doesnt equal 65, but that might not mean anything. Lets hope this works...
