ARGN and What YOU Can Do to Help
what can you do to help Sotm and SIC you say?

-One thing that would help us and you greatly
would be to keep at the ARGN and
the UNFICION forums and ANYWHERE else
you can think of AND tell the other
leaders of the zones/runners/players to do the same.

-There is no reason that SIC
should not have been Covered by now... O_o

Just be careful and respectful
of how you talk about the subject if

and they're pretty Mean out There....

Mercy, maybe you arrange to have unfiction put the summary of the game up - (that latest summary that they wrote). There are other game summaries. Her is a link to unfiction map - scroll down to see the list of game summaries.

Also, there is no link to the wiki - were we to make or request a special wiki though unforum? I have no idea. Quoting what it says:

Make sure to read the whole posting by SOTM - there are rule explanations on the blog. Also, this below was posted:

Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 4:30 PM Z*0 Time.

The New Check-in Locations are as follows:

just a quick question. How far are those locations from the person with the Compass. I can say that it is 9 hour drive and 451 miles. We just got our highway opened up. I think the PM's should have made it closer to the first pickup of the compass.

 		The new post was nice, cleared some stuff up.
I personally enjoy the story so far and would like to hear more and i've been confused as to what father sheamus had to do with anything since i was told i was the Zone rep. so itll be nice to know he's still relevant or will be at least.

Lupus: A while back when you first brought it up i tried to see if i could get anything from the transmission, but nothing useful came out of it.
then again it was a useless stab in the dark with the first clue, so i might have shrugged off something that might have been pointing somewhere else.

Palm: About Out of game yeah, unfiction is, but it also gets a little more complicated the way we are playing.
Example- We all have similar clues and since we are competing we all kinda shut up and didn't relay any of the experiences here until we knew that our clue wouldn't effect anyone else. Although technically this place is allowed that even on other teams we could have all posted our clues here and as long s that doesn't interfere with the game then they can't don anything about it.

I think you're right. Although I obviously agree that posting cross-zone spoilers would be unsporting (and rude to everyone playing), I also think that it violates the ToS for SoTM (or any PM) to use anything posted here against a team in the game. As I understand it, these forums are out of game and therefore should be "invisible" to anyone in the game, including the Contingency Foundation. So while we the players may choose to observe in-game rules here (and again - I think there is good reason for us to do so, and I'm not arguing that we start ruining the game), the bottom line is it's supposed to be the players' choice.

This game is unusual, but it's not the first ARG to pit players against each other, right? And in the vast majority of those ARGs, the players seem to work largely together (and all heck breaks lose on the forum if the PM "punishes" players for working together on this OOG forum). The difference now seems to be that in this game, the players aren't role-playing characters who have to pick sides, we're actually playing the game -- but I would argue that doesn't change the nature and rules of these forums. The other major difference is that there is an actual sense of competition going on here (due in large part, I think, to the non-RP aspect) -- and the players don't want to break the "rules" of the game. Which is awesome, and definitely enhances the game for everyone.

But that doesn't mean that "CF" (an in-game...entity) can enforce its rules here on this forum any more than any other PM could.

Just so I'm not minsuderstood: I don't think any team so far has posted anything unsporting/rude/spoilerish. Totally apart from the rules of the game or of the forums, I really want to know what all the other zones are experiencing! I think it makes the game much richer and more interesting when we get to hear about other Zones' challenges and rewards. Smile

I would like to clear something up too - in regards to the latest blog post about the wiki - I wrote to sotm and asked them if posting anything such as clues, etc would hurt the game and I never got a response.

Here is a copy of my email that was never responded to:
