This has probably been thought of before, but that screencap with the hand in it that could be Alex gave me this idea - maybe Alex really is locked up in the house somewhere, and the warping trick-room business was to ensure that Jay wouldn't find him?

Speaking of J's breathing, when he's going in and out through the doors over and over, his breathing becomes panicked.

I don't think he's travelling through time and space, I think that house is Slendy-infested. J seems to be aware that he keeps going through a door and ending up in the same spot, and his breath gets faster as he goes through the doors.

There's something very much wrong about that house, and while J may think he's done with it, I have a very good feeling that we have only just begun.

Idea: we know this is Brian's house. The set-up is just too similar to be a coincidence and Jay admitted that it could be via e-mail/Twitter/whatevs. They featured that picture of the forest burning rather heavily-in much the same way they did the tower. Entry #17: where does it take place? Jay says something about Alex having the A/C cranked up, but Alex also asks Tim where Brian is-implying, perhaps, that Alex arrived at the filming location, and therefore it's either Tim's or Brian's. Brian left to get snacks, which is something the host would do, right? There's something up with that house, and it's got to be connected to Slendy somehow. And not just because Masky took refuge there. There's a reason Jay ends up at that house in Return beyond "Masky's there." Something is there. Something intimately connected to Slenderman.

Brian lived close to Alex, right? And Alex lived by the woods...

Ok, I've just reviewed entries 22 and 23, in the hopes of finding evidence that J, Seth, and Alex were in Environment #22 at the same time. This is still possible, but I can't be sure.

As for the time/space travel theory, I get the feeling it's more like a distortion of dimensions, Wrinkle In Time style. If Slenderman can distort video and audio and even the mind to such an extent, it's entirely possible he/it can distort dimensions. As he grows stronger, so do the distortions, until at last his/it's presence is causing such incredible ripples or tears in space/time/mind that Entry #23 occurs.

I'm determined this isn't ENDGAME, but rather the next go-'round. Alex becomes involved with Slenderman, goes too deep, decides he wants nothing more to do with the whole thing. But then J, through the tapes left behind, becomes involved, goes too deep, and decides he wants nothing more to do with the whole thing. This could mean that something similar happened to Brian, who perhaps was the first to encounter Slenderman if his symptoms were indeed predating Alex's. Either J will be sucked back in like Alex and/or Brian maybe were, or this "curse" will be passed on to someone else who will take up the mystery. An endless cycle.

Now, if you've the patience to read this much, allow me to continue a bit further. Environment #22 is the key, especially that strange tunnel. At the very least it is Ground Zero for whatever created this phenomena. This is where Slenderman is most powerful, where he has possibly killed or "spirited away" people. My guess is it's some sort of factory, due to all that large machinery.

Or maybe it's something simple, like: mad scientist tries to create dimensional portal, gets Slendy stuck here. Slendy wanders around going "WTF? Oh those guys look interesting." He then proceeds to follow them around, but they freak out and don't do well in his other-dimensional presence, and all those missing spaces in the film and their memories are of him walking up to them like "ohai do you know the way back to Planet X Inside a Circle? You can have my doll if you want.." But then one of them tries to shoot him, he gets pissed, and now everything's gone to shit. /craziest crack theory ever

May I point out, Masky may have moved the doll?

Also, alot of Slenderman stories have him somehow keeping up with the protagonist even if it looks like he hasn't moved. I'd say this is superspeed, but he would just chase them then, right?

Heh, maybe Slendy's like the Planet Express from Futurama? He doesn't move, he moves the world around him.

Re: Jay's breathing sounding more panicked as he goes through the loop-da-room: yaaay, they listened to my idea! XD I'm not sure about sounding 'more cold'... when you get more cold you don't tend to breath harder, as it makes your lungs sore to chill them like that! It's probably a cue to let us know that Jay's really losing it.

Re: Occam's Razor: I think that the loop-da-rooms are probably meant to be seen as instantaneous transfers. The transfer between the hallway and the basement/factory could very well be an issue of blacking out and waking up again. It looks like the camera swings around and then down at the floor; for all we know Jay could have gotten up and was looking around? I had just assumed that he was going down a staircase, but since it's pitch black there for a few seconds, it is hard to tell! The loop-da-rooms do indicate that some paranormal activity could be taking place, though I agree that I'm not sure that teleportation is a part of that. Hmm.

It's like so many candies wrapped together. You just keep peeling back layers and finding new stuff! Makes me wish I could go through it frame by frame... Youtube blows for that kind of eyeballing.

hmmm

teleportation seems possible
or alex blacking out

though it wouldn't explain why he was standing when he came to, fully geared to move..

unless some wierd form of memory removing combined with camera editing >_>

i mean, someone mentioned the previous entry where he wakes up in his car[sans knife]

in that one, he wakes up in a completely different position to the one the camera stops in

in this one, it's a direct transition..

as for it getting darker at every "pass" i don't see it
it was pretty dark when he went up the stairs...

i think that hallway just has bad lighting in general...

and yea, what is with that screen door >_>

I like to think that the house is a direct visual metaphor for the state of the protagonist. Scattered, unhinged, etc. XD Visual puns are my bread and butter~

Okay I watched it earlier, but I was where I couldn't turn the volume up very much.

Now it's night, and I don't really want to immerse myself in the whole thing again (I'm a chicken, as has been established).

So where in the entry is the laugh and the other mysterious spoken words? I didn't catch them the first time?

(Ha ha, I make my girlfriend actually PLAY through SH games. XD I can't stand being in control of the game. I do like to watch the progress, though. Maybe that's why I enjoy Marble Hornets... we get to watch the progression and don't have really any say in what happens... though it still feels like we can peer over the shoulder of the protagonist and shout, "O JAY LOOK OUT!!" ^_^)

Even if it's a bit too silent hill, who says they're not taking directly from other movies and games for the best spook effect? Why not have an element of SH mixed in? Those games (well, most of them... but that's another can of worms) do their creep-out research!

Also, sorry pkticker, I'm not too good with the timing of things. I look forward to seeing an answer to your question also!

This may or may not be interesting (or picking at scabs of almost healed wounds), but in both 22 and 23 that pipe has been somewhat heavily featured.
Seems important, although I have no idea what the importance would be.

Yeah what was up with that pipe? Does anyone have any good screenshots of what was in there?
