I think it's really cool that the splicers talk about what happened to Jack and stuff. I really can't wait to play this, but it certainly looks like a much darker addition than the first. That's cool, as one complaint with Bioshock was that after the medical pavilion the horror aspect kind of dropped off. Sure, it was revisited in Fort Frolic but the amount of scripted suspenseful surprise attacks and stuff in those two levels is like triple that of the rest of the game.

Probably adopting, but on another note did anyone notice in the 15-minute video someone posted like a page back
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Lamb tells you over radio that she loves you but won't sacrifice thousands of innocent children for one rebellious son? Perhaps there's another hero-tyrant family relationship, and if Lamb were to change Rapture over to her DNA code like Fontaine had you do in the first, that would explain use of bathyspheres and vita chambers in the sequel.

Adopting. Definitely. I can't ever bring myself to harvest them. I'm like that in most games that have a morality system. I'm a messiah in Fallout 3. Pardagim (effed up the spelling there) in Mass Effect. I just can't bring myself to do bad stuff in a game and when I do, I usually feel really bad about it. Call me what you want.

ps im going to adopt em... but use the save function to see what happens when you harvest Very Happy

Perhaps, but you have to realize, as much as Bioshock 2 has to outsmart and outperform Bioshock to be a great game in its own right and not just a cash-cow sequel, it also has to work within the guidelines established in a game that, at least in my eyes, didn't leave much room for a sequel. No one's going to rave about Bioshock 2's unique plot twists and gripping storyline if it undoes precedents established by Bioshock. I'm very excited to see how Bioshock 2 turns out because only a fantastic and one of a kind story can find that middle ground, but at the same time I'm worried that it's going to suck due to the odds that 2K found such a story being very low.

I'm gonna have to disagree. I believe 2K has perfected the art of story telling. Hell, look at their viral marketing campaign! There's a story in and of itself. I'm excited for the 2nd game. I actually had an argument with a friend about this. Something along the lines of, "What would you do if Bioshock 2 ended up sucking, after all of this hype?" To which I responded, "It won't." "Yeah, but what if-""It won't""I know it's not likely but what if-""It WON'T""I know it won't, but what if it-""IT WON'T. That's not even in the realm of possiblity." Very Happy I'm counting down the days. I'm almost ready to pull a Cartman. Try and freeze myself til the 9th. I live in Utah, so it wouldn't be too hard... Bioshock 2 will probably have an even bigger and better story than its predecessor. I'm excited for Ryan's Audio Diaries. They help tell you about Ms. Sophia Lamb, and it will be interesting to see Ryan's personality, so to speak.

Yeah yeah yeah what ever. But by the end of this we need to get all the something in the sea team and get a Bioshock 2 clan if they allow for it and have an awesome multiplayer team. Gamertags will be given at the end of something in the sea.

Please don't freeze yourself. We still need your mind to finish this damn game. That and if you freeze yourself the guy you got to do it will forget and not thaw you out and you'll be frozen until a time when xbox 360 games can't be played. and time travel won't be around to work. But back on topic, I agree with Cat here. 2K has perfected the art of storytelling. I still to this day say that Bioshock has the best story in any game i have ever played. The way that is plunged you into a brand new environment while in your mind going "Fuck! What the hell just happened?" and going through and playing as Jack, meeting Atlas, listening to the audio diaries of the Rapturians learning what happened to this once beautiful city, using that first plasmid, and every plot twist that made you go "HOLY SHIT! HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS COMING!?!?" And they had plenty of room to improve. I'm excited for this game first of all to see why and how Rapture started the rivers of ADAM up again, who this Sophia Lamb is, playing as Subject Delta, learning more about the man we all know and love named Andrew Ryan, the new environments you play in, going back and seeing old areas of Rapture like the F-Fisheries (thanks for that line Peach), adopting that first Little Sister into your care, and everything else this game has to offer. I've seen so much for this game through X-Play, this viral campaign and youtube videos that I'm basically shitting myself out of anticipation. This game's story will also give us the insight to the knowingly brilliant conclusion to this trillogy(which I'm hoping that we'll all be able to get back together for for the next installment of the viral campaign). So in conclusion, this game cannot and will not suck!

I'd love to get a team together from here - the only bummer for me is that I think I am the only one on this forum that plays on a PS3. Elizabeth at 2K made it clear that there won't be cross-platform gaming. Bummer for me as I'd love to smack some skulls with y'all.

For anyone with a PS3 - online name is JohnBrowning. Cookie to anyone who figures out where that name comes from.....
