So, I just got into this, and have caught up(great wiki). I'm gonna post some random thoughts i've had:

-Anyone notice the water bottle that Tim is drinking out of in video 17 and 20 is the same water bottle that we see every time J looks in the closet(or is warped into the closet) at the house?

-I think tim is masky, same jacket, the water bottle, TTA video, and having a seizure due to his poor health(if you believe as i do that tim was the one already haunted by slendy since entry 20 is like toward the beginning of the timeline and tim is acting all strange plus the camera becomes distorted right before he enters)

-I can't remember the names of all the specific videos, but there was a TTA that said THERE WAS MORE and it was posted after entry 12 i believe, which was the one with SM standing at a far distance. I think that there might be some space time deal going on here. Maybe 12 and 22 are connected and that is where alex loses everyone, remember memory is affected so maybe alex simply did not recognize slendy.(one way or another he didn't recognize him somewhere because he walked near him with his dog and didn't recognize him from filming or he walked by him with his dog and didn't recognize him when he was filming.)

thats akk i can really think of right now.

water bottle doesn;t really show anything for definite, just that the MH crew[oog] drink the stuff

or the bottle mighta been left the since the entry where tim had it..
maybe it set of J's allergies
causing a coughing fit...

Totheark's name--
Biblical conjecture

I have an idea about totheark's name. I have already been remarking about the possibility of more than one person being a group 'person' called totheark. One is the "us" that he used before, and that J mentioned--It sounds to me like he's saying that totheark is multiple people.
Also, the 'halfright' mention: if one of the two people involved in totheark's posts was the one removing/restoring the missing audio tracks, that would make the guesser half right; only one of the two did it.

NOW...

What was the nature of the creatures who went to the ark in the story of Noah?

They went two by two, right?

One male...and one female!

SO--my idea is now that totheark is one of the guys from the student movie, and that there's a female participant as well. There has been talk here about how all the people appearing in the series must be significant, but that the female actor seen once or twice, and mentioned once before in Entry #7, could be the other half of totheark.

And WHY did these animals board the ark?
Well, all the other creatures were doomed--were GONE--in the flood. They were the only survivors in the world. And they would populate the new version of the world.

*shiver*
Alex made a clear statement that all the others were GONE in his own "final tape." He was the only one left. Didn't he also mention the woman actor in that statement, though...?

I have lots more ideas, but wanted to put this one first.

Whatcha think, all?

"for about three hours"
Somethin' amiss here with the time...

Here's another thing on my mind.

This kind of hinges on the video tapes used in the USA--I don't live there and DV was not around when I did. Do they have DV tapes that last for multiple hours--more than say five hours? Not in Taiwan; they are all 1 hour long here, s'far as I know. Please correct me if that's wrong....thank you.

Now, if the tapes in the US are like those here, What the heck is Jay talking about in Entry #19 when he says that the tape shows that he was away from bed for three hours? Not on a one hour tape, right?
This leads to a whole lot of other questions. Again, these hinge on the idea of one-hour videotapes.

Here are my notes on the topic:

How does Jay, and did Alex, normally sleep these days? Like Alex: with alarms each hour, to change tapes? (assumption based on early tape of randomness--#3 I think)

* When we see Alex buying tapes, he only buys three--right? Far from enough for even one day--unless they were longer,
* OR HE WAS RETAPING OVER EMPTY (uneventful) TAPES.
* Even a hundred tapes--as Jay has mentioned in a reply--would barely cover 4 days, if each can only tape 1 hour.
* Ergo: likely the hundred or so tapes were mostly all keepers from a longer period: they all held some element that Alex felt was important. However, Jay seems initially to have concluded that much of it was of no consequence, so he might have missed things that he should return to.
* Also ergo: though the tapes with random things like purchases and working at the desk were seen as uneventful, they were on a tape that DID contain something more significant--that may have been missed by J.
*
o and also, OOG, they serve a couple of plot/story points the player should know, in a metafictional way.

Please let me know your thoughts here!

"Hamlet's Reborn:" an anagram of "Marble Hornets"
More on this notion

OK, more on the "Hamlet's Reborn" anagram.
In Hamlet, the titular character is, like Alex, a drama's director. The speech when Hamlet browbeats the traveling players as to how to act--no sawing the air with their hands, &c., is famous.
Hamlet died, of course, but now is reborn.

This is possibly a sort of OOG injoke--the actual actors and puppetmasters wanted to make a Shakespeare reference in the title of the game, sort of an STTNG thing to do. {The Undiscovered Country, etc....}

I liked what was said about most characters dying--but Horatio, the staunch friend who was prevented from death by Hamlet, to carry on his work. Kudos!

Wild idea, cont'd: WAS the house cleaned up?
Gotta get back in time. . . .

Got lots of questions on #23.
One thought that came to mind is related to several posters' ideas on time shifts or such, and even dimensional shifts. . .too whacky for me...BUT...

We do note that the house in 23 (I feel it's definitely Brian's house, and may still be. . . !) is not as messy as it was before--no blood in the sink, less ripped up paper on the floor, etc.
It has been suggested that someone has cleaned up the house. Well, I have two minds on that.

A) If so, who did it and why? Do interdimensional child-devouring monsters get anal and want their lair spick and span?
--If Masky is totheark, as has been speculated, Masky may have TWO wearers--a man and a woman. This might suggest why one Masky attacks (or is it really an attack? Let's consider another explanation here...) and the other seems to run away or wish to help Jay.

B) Perhaps this new trip is somehow, for inside the house, EARLIER than the bloody sink and the advanced litterish situation.

The idea of a structure existing in another dimension than the main planet's is not new. It was in Robt Asprin's Myth Adventures; it is also in the House of Leaves. The Weasleys' tent for the Quidditch Cup was like that too.
The rules of Reality as we know it does not necessarily apply in such spots.

Thanks all!

Scrawled paper with "SLENDER MAN" on it??
Please verify for me...

Also, by the way, I really thought I had seen paper scrawled with "SLENDER MAN" in Alex's home somewhere, but I have not seen it again in later checks. However, I was all over the web finding refs to Slendy during those days; maybe it was not part of MH.

Can anyone verify that there was, or wasn't, such a paper? Doesn't matter too much to me, but would demonstrate that this is concretely Slendy and not some similar entity--which some seem to wish to prove or disprove.
Would be evidence...

for someone so new to it all, you have got some great theories, a lot of which hadn't crossed my mind. I particularly love the cleaner apt= back in time bit. And the male and female ark theory.

Also, hello MH community. I've been trolling a few days and finally remembered my uF login. I can participate now. Yay!

Also, I have a question. It is not clear to me if this is an ARG passengers influence or not. Should we be contacting charachters and trying to participate, or is this merely a spectate and speculate party?

I've had that theory for a while, actually, so I agree. :v

BaronVonCakeman's theory is pretty beastly, though the way I'm understanding it it means Seth just kind of appeared offering to help and isn't really 'a friend'? It would sort of make sense, considering Seth's barely been mentioned at all.

Now that you mention it, when they're filming in the gazebo and Alex is being a mondo douche, he is talking to Seth as if he was hired[for free, haha].

I think that we can contact the characters to a certain extent - the Twitter and Youtube accounts of in-game characters are certainly within limits. Some people have found the OOG Facbook/Twitter accounts of the actors, and have been getting some backlash for contacting them there.
