Empire of the Word
8 part interactive Mystery

Hello everyone,

Found this really interesting project on the weekend. It's called "Empire of the Word" - it has an 8 part interactive mystery "Lekha's Journey". Apparently it's an online counterpart of the TV series "Empire of the Word" on TVO. I haven't seen the TV show but I'm all about the online mysteries!!!

http://www.eotwonline.ca/

Click on the centre Codex and it will unlock an interactive chapter. I watched the first one, which takes place in Toronto. At the end of the video an ancient text is revealed in a foreign language - then this message comes:

Quote:
Enter the translated clues found in Lekha's Journey in the order of her travels

Not sure where to look for the ancient text again but there was another paper appeared (for entering the clues) and the first one was already on it so I guess it does it automatically for you. This is the translation to the first clue:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There were words in the beginning . With our words we share the human heart. We write our destiny.

I love these kind of projects! I'm gonna continue tonight. Let me know if any of you are interested in doing this together. It'll be more fun!!!

Alexx

Lekha's video

I was searching for Lekha's videos on YouTube and came across this new video, it's pretty cool. It's from this guy who calls himself a Desi writer, I guess that means Indian. I've sent him a message to join our forum.

Here's his video:

2nd video

Great video ericalee, thanks for sharing. It's wonderful to see how this project has inspired emerging writers.

I watched the second video of Alexandria, Egypt. It ends with a clue. An interactive pin-hole viewer appears with letters and symbols on it. It asks to move the letters under the cross-hair to unlock pieces of the clue. The correct pieces glow and automatically fill out the clue spaces below the pinhole. I needed to find four pieces to unlock the clue.

Another video opened and she read a clue about the next location that appeared on the box. I couldn't hear what she said at the end. Can anyone watch that see if you can figure out.[/quote]

BORING

A'right, I gotta be honest. I just watched the first episode of the TV documentary on TVO website and it's boring like hell. I had to drink a pint of Guinness to come write this post!!! C'mon they could have made it a bit more interesting.

This interactive mystery looks great as aesthetics goes but not sure what the experience would be like, might be just boring like the TV show. Alexx and ericalee - let me know your views about the game.

Toronto solve

After watching the second video of the first chapter (where the older girl drives away) a google translation page poped up with some arabic sentence. This translates to

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

We find stories, sacred to all peoples.

I assume this is one of the sentences we need.

EDIT: It is even easier:
If the letter is right the circle below will turn white, else it get red. So simply try and error reveals the sentences. Sometimes a google translate page pops up given you the complete sentence - so no more guessing is needed.

Here are the rest of the sentences:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Every word is sacred. (from Italian)
Every word written creates a world.
Find and express sympathy. (from German)
All humanity is one family (from Hindi)
Defend your words. (from Hindi)
I will not fail (from Portuguese)

After entering everything the second video starts as if the booked has been closed without solving.

Awesome!!!

AUZ505 ROCKS!!!

This is amazing! How did you figure that out? I'm glad you did Laughing

gameNERD - instead of clicking on the anciet dial just click on the names of the cities at the bottom panel. This way you'll be able to view the desired video. Have fun, they are great and tells an amazing story. Make sure you watch it in sequence.

Thanks for everyone's help. This has been great. I love these kinds of projects!!!
