Could be that they (MH Crew) just had multiple sleeping bags and they threw them around.

Maybe the inhabitant of the house likes to sleep in multiple places?

I hate that Masky is now most likely totheark, because it means that Tim is most likely totheark, and it really seems like it should be Seth. Plus, I liked it when totheark was more mysterious. Like, when we couldn't put a face to him. Oh well.

This multiple sleeping bag thing could just mean that totheark and Masky are partners-ish and they both live there, or at least stay there.

OR THERE COULD JUST BE MULTIPLE MASKIES.

For fuck's sake, dude. You think your theories are right and anything different is wrong. Cut the shit, it's a fucking game.

-_-

You're the one getting all bent out of shape over a game. I'm just playing devil's advocate to filter out the theories that don't make sense (robots, anyone?), or to, you know, give other reasons or possibilities for the existence or placement of things so that people can develop more feasible theories, rather than having us all running around saying that it's all robots and gnomes. In other words, I'm trying to help. Granted, I've been a bit negative as of recent, but I've only been trying to keep us on track by offering reasons and logical thinking. I have plenty of theories, and I don't think any of them are right. I just think they're possible/likely. I like to think that none of us will be able to guess at what's truly going on here until it happens, because otherwise, if we guess what's going to happen and it does, it ruins the fun in thinking up different possibilities, and it ruins the surprises we continue to see in each Entry.

I apologize for my "shit". I didn't realize I'd offend anyone. Don't worry though, because I'm not gonna post here anymore. Not until the next update at least.

Glad to see that you're not Leaving Forever. Razz

It's probably just that you sounded like you were slamming down other ideas (and ones that weren't so far out as robotic gnomes!) that got folks riled.

Keep posting ideas, if you come up with anything new!

If everyone waited until the next entry went up I think we'd have a pretty silent next couple of weeks. D:

Yeah, and I'm sorry I've been closed minded to the ones of recent. If anyone had time to waste, they could go back into that hole of a Trailhead and see that a lot of my posts were constructive, so I'm not always this bad. =P

One last (positive/constructive) thought about the design of the mask: it looks similar to a corpse. Like, black around the eyes and the lips, pale face, etc. So if it were some way to defend against Slendy, it could be because it gives the appearance of being dead. /shrug

I enjoy your theories, Cakeman. Playing the devil's advocate is about the only thing to do anymore, with the entries and responses coming so sporadically.

Oh, and also, Stevie.

YOU need to calm the hell DOWN. It's just a FORUM and their just THEORIES.

Ooh, necrotic tissues. Gross!

Playing dead against Slendy... he seemed to see through most of Alex's attempts (running, not running, blah de blah), so perhaps that was a last shot?

The mask's design seems to greatly exaggerate the eyes, and minimize other aspects of the human face. In certain lighting, when no light shines directly onto the wearer's face, the eyes appear to be nothing more than two huge black circles (reference 1:34 in Entry 19 for just how eerie this can look). One key thing it seems to link to, which also hasn't been explained, is the dark circles underneath J's eyes in Return. They look far too dark to be from lack of sleep- it's more likely he would've had to have been punched in both eyes to cause bruising of that magnitude- but J makes no mention of his eyes being dark later when he returns home. Could those circles have been an ad-hoc makeup job by totheark? And if so, why? Does an overlarge representation of eyes have some kind of effect on Slender Man?

I read the first half of your post, and came to the same conclusions you did when I remembered J's face in Return. TTA definitely painted J's face so he could survive the encounter with SM. It makes total sense. TTA wants to PROTECT J from SM. Warning is just that - a warning against falling victim to SM.

This solves the hanging mask in Entry 23. TTA wanted to prepare J for his meeting with SM. I believe J ignored the mask and rushed right into the closet...transporting him to the Basement where he faces SM. J fails at the encounter and is transported back to his house (but not before SM messes with his head).

OOG, we know that the MH creators painted a standard blank mask with the Masky pattern, so the pattern itself has some importance. We also know from Return that Masky-like facepaint acts in the same way. I think our action now is to let J know he NEEDS to make himself a Masky mask...if it's not already too late.

If this was a proper ARG they'd have set up a PO Box so that we could mail one over. XDDD

Can you imagine Jay's twitter: "O_O I keep getting masks in the mail. WHAT IS THIS?!"

I am liking the way that is headed, it seems to make sense. The only thing is, how did the original masky come across that form of protection?

Artsy desperation?! XD Alex was doing a lot of scrawling back in the day. It could have been a random experiment that worked.

Or maybe it was some weird hypnotic slendersuggestion!

I rather like this theory, all the clues support it in a way.

Maybe there was this....Mardi Gras party.....and Alex got really really drunk and someone gave him a party mask....and he stumbled home and realized it protects him from Slenderman! 8DDDD (I'm joking XD)

*snork* At this point, it's just as plausible as any other thought!

Why has it only been five days but it feels like forever since the last canon chatter? XD Stoopid time dilation due to focus.

Yeah you should've seen me when I realized Entry 23 had come out. I started screaming excitedly and bouncing in my chair. Only problem was....I was in Creative Writing class and everyone else was dead silent. Which made it pretty awkward. I watched it anyways.

But yeah I'm so focused on Marble Hornets that time seems to just draaaag on and onnnn between new canon-y things.

That's both scary and adorable. XD People need to be excited about things more often, it makes life more fun.

If I had any idea of how to manipulate a camera (or how to film things) I would totally be making horribly crafted fanvids and headnods and all that jazz. X3

ok i'm not sure i wanna read through all 30 pages of this thread and wade through the drama along the way to post this so just tell me if it's been covered somewhere.

where is the place he's taken to at the end? those antiquated machines look like boilers. is it part of the house? the basement? or somewhere else entirely? what was that voice? it kinda sounded like it was saying 'dood' but it's distorted so i donno.

Can someone trace the path he takes through the doors? like, which ones he entered and which he exited? i wonder why the bathroom was important since the doll kept leading him in there. also isn't that little closet room downstairs?
