I do like the idea of the plague though, Slenderman has been referred to as a disease at some points.

I think we all know where you found it LG, but I think it's a break for us because it could give the Operator symbol some context. If one of the MH creators knows about the plague symbol OOG they could have incorporated it as part of the story...maybe signifying that any place marked with that symbol has been "infected" by the Slender Man.

If that's the case, then the (X) symbol for 'eyes open' takes on an entirely different context. I still like the 'jump to coda' idea -- eyes open + jump to coda is a clever way of saying 'look, you're seeing your end. '

(X) as 'marked for infection' might make sense too. It is hanging over the door with Masky's pills, isn't it? And we see Alex encounter Slendy a couple of times outside that building in the woods that has an (X) etched into the rock. It's in Alex's home when Slendy begins earnestly stalking him, scribbled onto paper. It's scribbled small-wise on a sheet that Jay retrieves from Brian's house.

(This is all disregarding the original thought that (X) stands for 'operator'. It's likely that it could incorporate more that one meaning, too.)

I don't know if anybody has mentioned this, but the reason that production may be slowing in Marble Hornets may be the historic snowstorms gripping the Northeast USA recently. It's set in New Jersey correct?
