"Ouch, a brick wall, huh?" said Kate, smiling awkwardly for a moment. Faye was completely out of it. Must be a pretty bad fever.

Katherine felt her scar throb again as she suddenly began coughing, clutching her brothers' notebook more and more. She covered her mouth to be polite, but she couldn't stop coughing.

What the heck? She grabbed her canteen and drunk a bit from it, making sure there was still some left in it. Her cough stopped finally, her throat hurting a little.

"Mm, that was weird," she said, gulping down the water, her voice a little raspy.

Faye was pulled back into full reality by the sound of Kate's coughing. Alarmed, she craned her neck, staring back at Kate, more lucid than she'd been the entire car ride. Ah, shit, that's the kind of coughing I've been having the entire time I've been in town...that's not good...I was hoping she wasn't targeted by...him yet.

She shot a glance over at Terrence, who seemed to be in his own little world, then looked at Gavin. She knew that both of them knew what coughing like that indicated. Kate was now in this with them completely, hunted by this Tall One, for good or for bad. Horror was clear as day across Faye's face.

Gavin reached over and gripped Kate's shoulder.

"Are you alright, you gonna be OK, has the coughing stopped?!?" Gavin couldn't hide his worry. Last time he'd coughed the slenderman showed up near the house. Oh god we're screwed he thought. Then he leaned back.

"Sorry I got a little carried away...." While Kate looked away and up at David who was driving Gavin looked over at Faye who had a Horror struck face. Gavin probably had the same look without noticing. They both knew something bad was going to happen.

Kate looked at them all strangely. They all looked like they've seen a ghost.

"Are you guys alright?" she asked, concerned. She just started coughing like crazy and suddenly they seemed worried about her life.

((I've joined the family, we hopped in David's suburban and high-tailed it away from the factory as Slendy attacked with his minions, wiping out a lot of the people there. Some introductions were made and stuff, funnies, and Kate starting coughing, so Faye and Gavin know she's being targeted now. You in control of Mike, right? Is he an Army Ranger like Kate?))

The Slenderman moved with a sort of unnormal grace. He seemed to slide over the ground, body swaying back and forth as the tentacles supported, lifted it. It's head was cocked to one side, almost contemplative as it..."stared" at the trees.

The Masked One ran out of them, running up to join it's master. It jumped up, letting out a coarse yell before raising itself so it could walk alongside it's companion.

Together, the two moved across the path, the survivors in the distance running towards the town.

Mia coughed a bit. Everyone seemed disoriented. A strange, foggy memory of running away flashed in her mind, but she didn't know when it was from.

"This is ridiculous," she muttered to herself. She looked over and notice Faye was acting especially strange.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

She looked down at her hands, first the backs, then her palms. For the first time, she saw scars spreading across her wrists. She didn't know how she hadn't seen them before. She began to shake.

"Hey, are you alright, ma'am?" she asked, concerned.

Mia looked around, trying to see who had spoken. It was the girl she didn't know.

"I just..." she started to say. She had no idea where the sentence was going.
"I have no idea what these are," she said. "Why are they here..."

She blinked a few times and took a deep breath. "I'm okay," she said eventually. "I'm Mia, by the way."
