All very interesting except, uh, I can't do anything at all to make this work. I think that the Pms are being too clever in trying to make things unique for each person or whatever and are making it too complicated instead, because I can't get anything other than just the blank desktop no matter what i do.

Curious, what word did you use Lystella? And is it the same word from the second hangman?

There's got to be some pattern here. There's no way lrkr went through the process to get all those words and only found this now.

On a previous hangman run, I got the word "politics".
Using the site http://politics.interdimensionalgames.com

I found the word "running" through the first hangman.
When it asked for the _Lastword_, I typed in "running".
The resulting hangman gave me "astronomy".
I refreshed the page and moved the milestone window away from the folder, revealing the notepad to the left of the folder.
I typed "astronomy" in the blue screen prompt from clicking the notepad.

I repeated this two different times with different web adresses (http://(insertwordhere).interdimensionalgames.com) getting different words but no notepad. I also had my boyfriend (on a different IP address) run through the whole process (from getting the anomaly to the hangman) from scratch on http://interdimensionalgames.com and did not get the notepad.

I'm sorry but I just don't understand.... how were we supposed to know to do anything like http://__(word)__.interdimensionalgames.com in the first place? There's been no indication that's the thing to do next, has there?

In any event, I still can't get anything to work... I got the hangman once but I couldn't get any farther even after I solved it.

I'm not enjoying this part... boo.

It's actually probable that I missed something like this; in order to get the words, I avoided "solving" hangman as much as possible, and instead would run into words multiple times, and leave different letters blank as verification. It may just be that the PMs expected a higher player density. If you had more people actually solving hangman (instead of my data gathering approach) and more new players coming in, we may have found this earlier.

Edit: unless they expected people to solve hangman multiple times by entering words in like we did......but that doesn't explain 1tbone, unless he/she was using a word.interdimensional format like we were.

Additionally, in response to Vidal's twitter request, I've responded to him letting him know I got the file. I also tried to provoke(?) a response from Henry by basically telling him I'd do whatever he wanted. We'll see if that does anything.

Btw Rogi, nice catch, thanks for that. Henry's so charmin', ain't he?

There was so much change and bugginess in the beginning, I didn't see a lot of hope towards trying to actually figure anything out. I kinda started getting a, "Lookie what I can do." vibe.

in any event it still doesn't work for me..

i managed to get the first hangman -- solved it for 'church' then solved the second one for 'lydia' but then there was nothing new on the desktop.

so then I went to lydia.interdimensionalgames.com (even though I have no idea what that's supposed to be the thing to do) and went through the whoooooole thing again to reset the website back to the desktop...

got the first hangman again.. solved it for 'beware' and then solved the second one for 'demonology' but again there was nothing new on the desktop..


so i give up until they make a short cut or easy route to whatever we're supposed to do next lol

GOT IT! Beat the second hangman and there it was, didn't even have to refresh it. If you can't get just keep trying, there's no trick. Need to get to bed though, so I'll update the hangman wiki and check the living notepad tomorrow.

As for in-game reasons......The website was supposedly placed there by something other than a conventional source...I was just trying to figure out any way to easily compromise it and find out more.

On that note, my method apparently works!!!! It's not as simple as I thought, but me finding two files in one night using that method and it being a coincidence seems..unlikely.

Anyway, my path was (starting at swift.interdimensionalgames.com and moving on until the last step at which the solved for word is the password to the notepad)

Swift-->archaeology-->hasperus(another satellite)-->angelology.

Okay, here's how I did it. I don't know why we use spoiler tags. If someone didn't want spoilers, they wouldn't be on this forum. Is it so that a person can pick and choose which spoilers they want?
