So? Balloons, eh?

I'll just go out there with the obvious theory:
The story of Perdita is an allegory of the experience of the Sleeping Princess. She was separated from her parents (lured away by the promise of balloons) and then left the balloons as signposts to show the way. So, what are the balloons?

And, the obvious connection from lookinglass.html:

allright this is gonna decrease the signal to noise ratio briefly, but my spec is that the sleeping princess' former name was Nina, and she's going to be leaving 99 red balloons around the website.

From anyone else I'd be annoyed. But that was funny. Laughing

On to the future axons.

Do you guys think these phones will ring? If they're not built yet, does that mean the web page, or the link to the phone. I'm going to guess the web page, because that would allow people to go to those phones and get information early, hence spying.

I'm not resourceful enough to post these on the net with links to maps and such, so I'll post them here.

[edited out coordinates because they shouldn't be in this thread]

It would only give me 4 different images. I'm sure there's a better place for me to put these, so trout me if I deserve it.

We have parallels to Snow White and Hansel and Gretle (kinda).

 		On the off chance that the reason it hasn't been brought up yet is that it's not brutally obvious, "Perdita" means "lost". It also appears to be an alegorical reference to the Sleeping Princess... especially if we start seeing red balloons around the site.

-- Steve is awaiting trout, but a search on "perdita lost" came up blank.

Perdita is also the name of the mother dog in 101 Dalmatians.

sorry...wasn't entirely sure... the 1337 speak kind of threw me as some people have gotten snubbed that way at the start of this...just didn't want to see ARGers devolve into that anti-new people track again.

Definitely see the Hansel and Gretel. Not entirely sure of the snow white if you're referring to the Perdita story...but for sleeping princess then yes.

So any specs on the upcoming Chapter 2 and the clockwork rat...maybe a reference to the Hickory Dickory Doc nursery rhyme?

It seems like a reference to the Queen as a little girl. Remember "mirror mirror on the wall" and the Queen's vainess. Also the Queen/Melissa IS lost in a way.
