Hopefully you made it to the Press Conference or have at least read the
transcript by now. A few people have sent it to me so I know it's circulating around. Listen, I've purposely been lying low at Dale's request. You see, he's been afraid that I was making myself too visible as a friend of his and the main connection between him and all this help he's been getting from people outside of this area. In the last week or so, he's become increasingly convinced that things are getting dangerous for both him and anyone who may be trying to help him. I was passing this off as paranoia, you know, after effects of the trauma he has been going through but with the events of the last two days I'm convinced. From incidents at his house, to these strange people showing up and
questioning anyone who may have seen or talked to Dale lately, there's
no denying that someone seems to be very intent on getting their hands on him.

I was hoping to write you and assure you that Dale was indeed OK. You
see, after what happened last night at his house, when those strangers tried to get into his house, Dale came over and stayed with me. He managed to get out of the back door and away from them and didn't wait around for the real Police to show up. He was really shaken up about the whole thing and didn't want me to tell the Police or anyone else he was here. Today, however, he decided he needed to go back to his house and pick up a few things so he went there this afternoon.

I couldn't go with him because of work I had to do at the Municipal
Building. And now this . . . Have you seent he newsclip that was posted in the last hour on the Aglaura website? I'm really worried about Dale now and haven't heard from him since earlier today. Please, if you hear from him at all, get a hold of me right away. I'm not sure what to do anymore.

This sure makes it sound these people were dressed up like the police. I wonder if we can trust the police either? Or maybe he doesn't consider the NJ State Patrol the Police.

I too saw the e-mail from Sal Marzano to Dale a few days ago and have to wonder just what the Hell he was thinking. It sure seems somewhat incriminating to me but I'm not sure what to do with it. The Mayor sure does seem a little too cozy with them for my liking. If the Mayor is involved with the Marzano's in something illegal (God I really do hope that's not true), letting him know we have some evidence against them may just tip our hand. I'm not sure that's our best approach at this point.

I've considered taking the info directly to our Chief of Police, Dawn. In all honestly, I don't really know her all that well despite working for the Borough, but my first impression of her is that she wouldn't be involved in anything illegal, so we may be able to trust her. I'm going to talk to Wes about her and what we can do from here tonight and I'll fill you in on what we come up with.

First section is the same as previously posted -- however, i pushed Sam for further details on the dead-eyed guys and he has provided a bit of info:

I'm going to try and answer some of your questions now in hopes it helps. I didn't see any of the Marzano's around here recently, though during the time of the Library contstruction I did run into them a few times. In my opinion, the youngest one who wrote that e-mail, Sal, isn't the brightest bulb in the bunch but the oldest brother and the Father are definitely "heavy hitters". Not people you would want to get on the wrong side of, I'm thinking.
Now, about the guys with the "dead eyes". I may not be the best person to fill you in on them, because I have never even seen them myself. But I have talked to Wes and a couple of other local people who claimed to have seen them. The weird thing is, everyone you talk seems to give you a slightly different description of them. Here's what Wes has told me about them, though, maybe it will serve as a starting point for you. He said when he first met them he almost thought that they were some type of government agents, mostly becuase of their clothes and stuff. He said they had on dark suits and sunglasses and just had that aura of arrogance about them. It wasn't until they wanted to talk to him that they removed their glasses and he noticed their strange, "dead" eyes. Wes says it's as if their pupils are deep, black holes, with no hint of light or reflection from them, almsot as if they were actually absorbing any light that might reach them. It was then he realized that these guys don't work for the government and believe me, Wes' life-long interest in conspiracy theories and so on has certainly qualified to make that judgement. he's dealt with more than his fair share of real ones.
Wes also mentioned that these guys have deep voices and somewhat pale
complexions but I don't think he mentioned them having accents or anything so I'm assuming they speak in plain English. I'll ask him about that though to make sure. The one other thing he mentioned that stood out to me was he said they seem to be accustomed to getting their way and weren't very happy whenever he told them "no" or said he didn't know anything.I don't think there has been any official complaints against or investigation of these guys by the Aglaura police but I'll see what I can find out about that too.
OK, I have to go. I have a meeting with Willingham about something.
Let me know if you hear from Dale in the meantime.

I asked Sam how I could contact the Chief of Police. (It was before the e-mailadress was posted on agjauranj.

His answer suggests that the Mayor is not to be trusted.

I am feeling relieved and in a much better mood since I heard from Dale. Even
though I don't know exactly where he is and still believe he needs our help,
it's good to know that he's at least physically OK and not in anyone's hands,
so to speak.
Be careful in your attempts to help, though. Dale's close friends here, Wes and
myself, and the others who've been helping us all appreciate your efforts and I
know Dale does to. That's one of the things he mentioned in his e-mail to me,
how overwhelmed he was by all the people who believe in him and have been
trying to help him. He's just concerned that he's putting all of us at risk.
I finally got finished posting some of the new images and information Phyllis
Willingham gave me for her store, the Hollow Needle. That woman can sure be
a . . . well, I think you know where I was going with that one. I was hoping to
get both that and the new page for the Library done today but, as usual, I
didn't get everything done I wanted to. Hopefully I'll get that done some time
this weekend.
It's late and I'm heading home. It's been a really long day and I need to rest.
