With the car radio blaring, Faye giggling like a maniac while David and Kate sat uncomfortably in the front seat, Terrence couldn't help but feel a strong surge of happiness and belonging well up in him. 'This must be what it's like to feel love...'

The peculiar looking man rested his head against the window somberly, sighing a little bit. He knew the ecstacy was not to last, as any moment could be interrupted by The Tall One. Regardless, he let the feeling wash over him and cleanse his thoughts, if for only a brief instant.

It suddenly occured to him he had no idea just what was making David so uncomfortable around Kate, or why Faye had begun blushing when he had torn through Mia's shirt and revealed her breasts. 'I have a lot to learn about human socializing...'

He mused to himself for a few more minutes, then turned to Faye and grinned, unable to help himself from joining in her laughter. When she began singing, h ealmost had the desire to carry on loudly along with her, if only he'd known the lyrics.

"Ay dios mio" David said as he hit his head repeatedly on the steering wheele. She hasn't changed a bit, just like prom night all over again.

Kate was starting to get really flustered. Faye's singing just made her get even more hot and bothered, her fists clenching tighter and tighter.

GOD DAMN IT.

It was only a matter of time before the rest of them would start laughing, making her sink more down the seat.

"..." Her teeth started to clench as she fought the feeling of anger trying to make itself known. Eyes shut, she squirmed a little.

I'm a soldier, damn it! Soldier first, woman second...this never happened before in my unit...

Terrence had started laughing, as well as Jake, who had given in to his temptation after she'd finished singing Love Gravy.

Grinning and dizzy, and probably more than a little out of it, Faye struggled free of Jake's hand and began to yell, "BEEEEEEEETLLLEEBORRRGS! NO WIFIN IN DAH CLUB, GIMME TWENNY DOLLAH, GIMME TWENNY DOLLAH, GIMME TWENNY DOLLAH..."

David finally caved in and joined in on the laughing and looked at Kate and shrugged, "Gotta admit it this is kinda funny aint it?"

Settling down from his fit of laughter as Faye began to go on a mere tangent, Terrence's crystal-colored eyes began to feel heavy under the eylids, and he rested back in his seat in the sburban.

Now that he thought about it, yawning, it had been quite some time since he'd gotten any real rest. The jumps always made him feel as though he had lost a day or two of sleep, and coupled with his recent frenzy of emotion and activity, the poor man was exhausted more then he ever had been in his life.*

One leg curled up against his chest, Terrence nestled his head against the car's seat and shivered, a little bit cold. It might not have been the best idea to sleep right now, but then again, it wasn't a good idea to go sleepless in the face of danger, either. His eyes shut softly, and before long he was dozing off contentedly.

*Except for a minor incident involving The Tall One and an engaged victim, that is.

Kate opened her eyes and cast a biting glare on David before shutting them again.

...damn it.

David took some deep breaths and calmed down. Now to get the attention of the rest of them. So he honked the horn. "all right people calm down its about time we moved on out."

Gavin couldn't laugh and join in on the fun. He had been uncharacteristically quiet, but he was glad to see Faye was having a blast. Mia was sitting next to him in the back and seemed a bit tired. Understandable.

At least we're finally moving. Mia had to come back from the dead for me to get their asses in gear, but it worked.

Then it happened. Faye yelled, "NO WIFIN IN THE CLUB....." Gavin burst out laughing. That song had always been funny but here it seemed even more funny. This is why I love her. We're in the tensest of situations and she has everyone laughing

"Where are we going exactly?"

[Serenity]

"We're going into town," Kate said, sitting up in her seat. Just forget about it, Kate.

"There's a clinic and a garage there and we could really make great use of it," she said, glancing back for a moment.

Her arms weren't uncrossing unless they were going to be attacked.

Damn it.

David stepped on the pedal and the suburban full of laughing maniacs gently lurched forward.

Faye really hasn't chamged much over the years. Seems that her memories got fucked with too, i think there might be some stuff i stashed back at the house that might bring them back.

He drove most of the way there without saying anything, occasionaly getting some of his hair out of his face. He looked in the rearview at his passengers enjoying their little laugh. then, while making sure his hair was hiding his eyes so she woudn't notice, at kate, she looks kind of cute in a she'll blow my head off if i hit on her sort of way.

He then decided to whistle nonchalantly for no reason.

Mike started feeling the effects of the pills he took.

"Ah wuz gobba go tah crash...bah than rah ga high....Coulda cheatad ran pashed the tesht, bah thran ah ga high...noar ram tacin' it nex semeshter an ah know why...cause ah ga high..."

He erupted into maniacal laughter.

He then thought to himself, "Hey, wait a minute...this may be the pills talking, but if I flap my arms really fast, I bet I can fly!"

He starts flapping his arms and attempting to make duck noises.

Mia stuffed her hands over her ears. When she was in pain she tended to become very irritable. "Jesus, you guys are loud," she whimpered.
She looked down at her shirt again. "This is useless, now," she said. She ripped it the rest of the way down the middle and took it off. She tore a chunk of the back off to make a small scarf that she wrapped around her head to ease the bleeding. She remaining part of the shirt she wrapped bandeau-style across her chest.

"where did my pipe go?" she asked. "Are there any pills in here I can take?" She coughed again into the sleeve Faye had given her. There was significantly less blood than before.

((Oh, Lord. Gimme a few minutes, I can't stop laughing.))

Gavin couldn't help it. He joined in with Faye.

"NO WIFIN IN DAH CLUB, GIMME TWENNY DOLLAH, GIMME TWENNY DOLLAH......" It was the first dose of fun he'd had in a while. Faye had been a senior when he showed up as a freshman. He barely knew her at the time.

So why was it so easy for him to like her? He sat there singing along with a smile on his face. And puzzled it.

He didn't know, but as he looked at David he wondered. Where had he known him. He seemed familiar. He continued to sing on but less happy and thinking a little harder.
