Team DC has got yer backs, guys. (Kaziel got the drt axon right after you and unlocked the clip.) At least you know where the phone is. Next time...you need to try the phone company guy ploy being discussed in the Portland thread. Laughing

I guess I'll need to put on my old telecom tech duds... I work in an office now Razz

PS, it's a bad ploy unless you can fit some of the actual telecom gear. A $500 buttset is usually outside of most people's price range for a prop. (And [OT] that's what those telephone sets that telecom guys have attached to their hips costs, btw.)

But it could be a "jeans" and "old work polo" day, and I could take my toolkit with. Look pretty official that way. Cool

Haha, funny story. I am a telecom tech and yes I have my own buttset and all the punchdown equipment and cross connect. In fact that is what I will be doing all day tomorrow, telecom work. Too bad we didn't think of this earlier cause I could have used the ploy this morning at the 10:07am axon that was being used.

Nailed to_do from Palo Alto this morning, with help from a couple of friends. Sorry SF.

You know, an axon at 7:35 at a train station with loud diesel arrivals at both 7:33 and 7:34 is a little nervous-making.

Is it true that these locations still need to be activated:

[37.787249 -122.408630] @ 7:33
[37.784899 -122.407931] @ 10:07
[37.797956 -122.407104] @ 12:29
[37.785681 -122.406264] @ 16:17

Are we still hunting them?

If so, I can easily cover the 16:17 location today.

Berkeley @ Bancroft & College

from the new recipe3 axons: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6266

This Berkeley axon
07:29 37.869350 -122.254683
is at Bancroft & College (map)

In case anybody plans to go for it, Stitch & I (mostly Stitch) have both been trying this last one (12:37 on hivekuts) So far, the phone inside Cafe Strada, the two phones outside Cafe Strada, and a phone inside Boalt Hall all appear to be duds. The two others on Bancroft appear to be defective, so one may be the axon but didn't work. I may try looking in Kroeber Hall today for additional phones.

There are several beekeepers in this area. I've been alternately not well and catching up with work. I have not been able to get to this locations, and will not be able to over the weekend. I guess this means unless someone else can make them, that they will remain cold. Sad

New Sleeping Princess Coordinates

There are 2 new recipe3 coords (both out of our area), but a ton of new coords that are hidden in the killer.jpg image on the ilovebees 404 page. The one in Berkeley mentioned above is not one of the 2 on the recipe3 page.

I took a spreadsheet of the coords from the Wiki page and condensed them to focus on our area.

The list WAS linked as a spreadsheet, but this should be easier to use:

Easy SF coordinate Table

I don't see myself making it out for any of these today. but definitely tomorrow. Please post if you manage to make any of these.

Oops. Sorry.

I meant killer.jpg coordinates, not recipe3.

killer.jpg

The fun never stops!
Good work ariock, was going to compile a list, but you are quicker. Awesome. I have a question though, when I opened the killer.jpg file in notepad, I saw only 3 sets of 12 axons, and out of those, only 4 SF axons. Where/how did you find the others?

Edit: OK, I have actually read the site, my appologies.... *smacks face*

I'm going to go with what aliendial said, basically, if they are too far from us, just leave them. The axons we activate now, will be active for the next set. If they are close to the others, or close to where you live, then by all means go for it. Right now those axons are for codebanks that went active already, so unless we can figure out how this will play into the total count (###/777) I would just leave them be.

I checked the Berkeley coordinates, and aside from that first one that we can't find, they all look pretty easy. Most of them I've visited before.

7:29
Strada mystery phone

7:49
Urban Outfitters phone. This one's right on the corner of Bancroft and Bowditch. It's plainly visible and there are no phones around. I answered it Wednesday. It's the phone on the left.

8:15
Crepes a-go-go phone. This phone is on University Ave, right in front of Crepes a-go-go. There are 3 phones there, this is the one on the far left.

8:29
Bancroft & Shattuck. On the northwest corner of the intersection. I don't remember which phone it is, but they both have good ringers.

8:43
Public Library. In the main entry way to the berkeley public library just west of Shattuck, there are 2 phones, the one on the left is the one that rang before. Take pictures of the security guard.

9:03
Radio Shack. This one's right on the money of the GPS coordinates. Just hang out on the bench outside of the Radio shack on Shattuck and Dwight until the phone on the right rings.

9:11
Shattuck and Haste. If this phone's a repeat, it's one I wasn't there for.

12:57
MLK and University. Right out in front of the restaurant on the corner, it's the phone on the right.

The killer.jpg coordinates

It turns out that the image changes from one load to the next, there are a series of 13 images that each have 2 or 3 blocks of axons.

Couple of clarifications:

Giving credit where credit is due, the original data was compiled and posted by theblackforge.net, which I found via a link from the wiki:

http://www.theblackforge.net/princess-coords.html

Also, I just re-read the info on the theblackforge.net page, and it appears there is a block of coordinates that is missing between 9:19 and 10:05. I will update my page when theblackforge updates, or I finally get the right killer.jpg file...

I have only been able to get 3 different images from reloading the image, and none of those 3 have the missing coordinates.

Not that I've been fooling with these myself, but it looks like you get more variations if you clear your cookies: from here

(It looks like people have been doing some pretty heavy duty searching for those coordinates, maybe Sleeping Princess spazzed out and forgot them Smile )

P.S. Great handy list o' coords you did. And great summary you did, Stitch!!

So, shall we all converge tomorrow, since it's a Sat?

EDIT:

My bf and I went to the 16:17 site found either phone outside the Apple Store unaccessable. Neither one rang. One (up Stocton) didn't have a working incoming phone#, but the outgoing calls did work. The other (along Ellis) had no phon# avaiable and looked neglected.

Conclusion: Failed location.
