[SPEC] Jersey, Keyes Connection

Ok mods, please delete if this is trout. I did extensive searching trying to find if this was posted. I was reading the transcripts of the wavs and the first one was "the_human_heart". It starts off with Jersey talking about how his dad loves the music. In game, Halo, on the 343 Guily Spark level there is a point right before the flood enters for the first time where you watch the video from a helmet of a fallen soldier. Captian Keyes is in a dropship and he says almost word for word what Jersey says. I'm not sure what it means if Keyes is Jersey's father.

Well, it is trout, but very few things get deleted on these forums. In the level "343 Guilty Spark", the man you are refering to is Sgt. Johnson. Keyes hasn't arrived at the jungle installation yet. The music Johnson plays over the speakers in that level is "flip" music, a descendant of heavy metal. It's not jazz, and Sgt. Johnson isn't Jason Morelli aren't the same guy, or even similar ones. Still, there is the reuse of that idea about. Music used to link and connect people.

Perhaps we should redirect the thread to explore that issue?

Man, I could've sworn it was Keyes, sounded like him. The thing that got me was it was "word for word" with what Jersey says about his father.

Watch your mouth, son. This "stuff" is your history. It should remind you grunts what we're fightin' to protect.

Durga: I don't understand.

Jersey: That he can connect. He can listen to this stuff, and imagine the people who made it. They cared about the same things we do. Making a buck, finding a girl, rooting for the home team. These old guys, they really knew people. They knew the human heart. That's what my dad says.

Not quite word for word, but there is definitely a connection.

Anyone with more knowledge then me care to discuss?

Chaotic, where did ya get that from? You got a link? Its the next sentence after that where they are identical, "They cared about the same things we do. Making a buck, finding a girl, rooting for the home team. These old guys, they really knew people. They knew the human heart."

The first bit is from the HBO story page.

The last bit I did on the fly. My own transcription, so I could be wrong somewhere.

Ok, so from reading that on the HBO page, it seems like I'm mixing things up in my head. At least they're somewhat connected. Looks like I need to go back to lurking Embarassed
