Gavin heard footsteps. He used all of his energy and self-control to stop crying. Quickly he opened the door and nearly ran out red faced slamming into Faye's head.

He fell backwards holding his jaw. Damn what the hell is her head made of? Cement? Painfully he asked,

"Are you okay?"

"Oh, sweet, never mind," Kate told Mike as she moved passed Gavin and Faye and into the bathroom.

"Ahh, a shower," she said, smiling. She stripped off the rest of her uni, tank top, and boots, then took look at herself in the mirror. I do need a shower.

She stretched for a bit, turning on the shower. Hot or cold? Better use the hot water before it runs out, bound to happen. She waited for it to heat up by piling up her clothes at the foot of the door. "I'm gonna have to wear these again...wait, hold on, isn't there a washing machine here or something? Yeah, I heard that noise. McManus must be using it."

She smiled and stripped off her under garments before entering the shower, feeling completely and utterly satisfied by the water. It was so soothing, she really needed it after all that she had been through today. The soap helped even more. Within a few minutes, she had finished and started to towel off with a spare towel she had found hanging near the door.

"Much fucking better," she chuckled, smiling. She wrapped her towel around her, made sure it wouldn't fall even though she had something in her hands, and grabbed her clothes. She opened the door and walked out, intending to head toward the laundry/dryer. "McManus, where's that laundry machine?"

Mike heard Kate and went over. "Careful, God forbid one of the civis freak out since you are in a towel." He showed her where the washer was a did try to sneak a peak of the tatoo once more. "You said it was down your leg, too, right?" And with that, he ambled off to wait somewhere quietly for his clothes to dry.

Mia walked upstairs, wondering if there was someone who would go to the house with her. She walked past Faye and Gavin and saw Kate and Mike standing there in just their towels.

"Well now I just feel overdressed, and I'm barely wearing anything," she said.

[Serenity]

"Yeah, my right leg, actually, stops just above the knee," she smiled. "Glad you like my tat," she chuckled, walking over to the washer and dryer. She made sure to take off everything that wouldn't fare well in the washing machine and dumped her clothes in it, placing the boots right next to her.

"What's with these civvies, seriously?"

Her clothes finished washing quickly and so, after Mike's clothes had finished drying, she put in her immediately. "Kind of cold in this house," she muttered to herself, feeling a chill go up her spine.

Mike head the buzzer for the dryer go off so he thanked Kate for pulling them out, collected his effects, geared up, then met Mia.

"So you wanna go to a house now?"

"Yeah, Gavin wants clothes," she said. "And we can't let him go back to that house. Faye offered but I think she's going to stay here with him. Shall we?"

[Serenity]

"I'll come with," said Kate, calling out to them. "That thing might be out there," she said, waiting for her clothes to dry. "Well, I don't want to go out there in just a towel. These aren't drying quickly enough," she grumbled, tapping the dryer impatiently.

She saw her towel slipping a little and tugged up on it, but not fast enough to stop everyone getting a little taste of what's underneath. "Damn towel," she muttered, turning back to the dryer as she readjusted it.

Andrew was sick of all this anxious waiting. He walked right out the front door and toward the other house coughing slightly.

He called back, "I was sick of waiting." As he neared the house getting drenched he began coughing more. What the hell? He went right in and opened the door before stopping dead. A sheet covered the bodies and there was blood all over the floor.

"Oh, god." He closed his eyes and walked past them before going into the hallway and opening them again. He found Gavin's room on the first right and found a Yankees T-shirt and some blue jeans. He looked around. This place was eerie and he wanted to leave.

As he turned the corner avoiding the bodies he thought he saw a shadow.

No it must have been his imagination he thought as he exited the house.

Mia heard Andrew call and ran downstairs. He was gone. "Shit," she said. "Andrew left!" she yelled as she ran outside. She saw him coming back, a change of clothes in his arms. "You goddamn idiot!" she said. "Don't just go running off like that! You saw what that thing can do, don't go ANYWHERE by yourself!" She ran over to him, scowling. "What the hell were you thinking??"

Andrew didn't know what the big deal was. He gave her a counter scowl and then it happened again. The coughing. He couldn't stop until he beat his chest like 5 times.

"What the hell I wasn't sick before this." he looked at the clothes that were getting wet. "Let's get out of this damn rain."

Mia saw him scowl back at her and got even more annoyed. "You have no idea what could be out here," she snapped. She heard him cough. "Huh, I thought I heard a rumor that fools can't catch colds. Let's hurry back inside before those get soaked. My god, why would you even just leave like that?"

Andrew rolled his eyes as they ran inside. Him and Mia were too much alike. When two people are a lot alike they're bound to fight. Once in he replied.

"I was tired of waiting and thought I'd take a weight off of everyone's mind. Sorry geez!" he grinned as he found this argument pointless and amusing.

Mia rolled her eyes. "I understand the impatience but for Christ's sake don't go off by yourself anymore," she said, sighing and walking away from him. "Gavin, your clothes are here," she yelled. "They're a bit wet though." She went looking for a towel to dry off with.
