There's a new video up on the Youtube channel.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPcJlJDI5o4

The title reads 13.1.14.4.18.1.7.15.18.1.1110 which could translate to:

M.A.N.D.R.A.G.O.R.A.1110

No idea what the 1110 means at the end.

Holy cow, first time I land into something interesting and mysterious while it's still relevant. Laughing

I really like the music too. Whoever you are, better not disappoint us because what you have done so far is just freaking EPIC.

Also: this -- only forum I found where people actually try to figure out stuff "logically" as a puzzle instead of trying to guess the artist by looks. And since the footage was apparently stolen from different videos, whoever it is in the videos may not BE the artist.

Don't think just because the illusion of copyrighted stuff was put up, that it was true. I've seen ad campaigns do things like that before, to make it seem more mysterious and 'bad'. They get permission from the rightful owners, and arrange to have it appear as if that owner is against it, just putting more spotlight on the product.

Personally, I think in the most recent video, the woman has to be Christina. The teeth are exactly the same, as is the general shape of the face. The Sony BMG image that was linked as a 'promo album' shot matches the face in the video. Here's that image, again [x]

Now. Even if it is her, we have to ask the question of why? Is this collaboration? A side project that got leaked? A total change in career direction?

Continuing from that, we have to fit things in to the blanks. What does Vanuatu have to do with anything? What do the animals represent?
Is there some sort of puzzle these things add up to?

Mandragora is the name of an expirimental music record company. Here's the link to their site (WARNING: Home image my make you do a spit take)

http://mandragora.com/

I didn't hear anything on the site that matched the music in the clips either stylistically or in terms of quality. And yes I did listen to clips of their artists. I'd like that half hour back. Razz

However, mandragora is also the name of a plant (commonly referred to as a mandrake) and has been used in literature as the name of a demon. So perhaps, we're dealing with a "plant demon" of some type? Who knows...interesting stuff, though.

EDIT: If this is Christina Aguilera, then kudos! Pop music needs a boot in the kiester!

EDIT PART DEUX: Probably a coincidence, but 1110 in Base 64 translates to x]t. X-Tina anyone?

Not in this case. I come from the community who emailed iamamiwhoami and falsely claimed to be the person who owned the goat video and complained that it was being used--so we could try and see what response we got. The response was the goat footage--and later, all footage--was taken down and we got a snarky email back. The lady who owns the goat footage didn't even have knowledge of it being used until after that whole incident so.

Anyway, the copyrighted stuff came from an array of sources; educational materials, private youtube footage, National Geographic footage, commercial footage, etc.

found picture this on a blog comparing Cristiana's teeth with the ones on the videos http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/1448/4ihngo.jpg

pretty convincing, but not enough.

also, just thinking out loud in a post, i can't imagine any serious music/viral campaign that would start on youtube. it feels so.. amateurish.

Think back five years ago.
Think about what sold then, as opposed to now.
Then think about how those things sold, as opposed to now.

The internet, especially youtube, has become a major promotion tool, a marketing tool, and a way to quickly, easily, and successfully get the word out to millions of people. How many record companies have official youtube channels for their music? How many TV networks have channels for their new shows/teasers for them? How many millions has Youtube made off of these companies?

It doesn't seem 'amateurish', it seems like a smart move by a modern advertising company.

I will post this again, because everyone is ignoring what I posted...

To further the probability of it bein Christian, and also to confirm collaboration questions...

http://pitchfork.com/news/37757-more-details-on-the-le-tigrechristina-aguilera-collaboration-revealed/

She is collaborating with an Snyth Punk band named Le Tigre. I'm still very skeptical of it actually being Christina Aguleira, especially considering Mandragora reference.

From that website:

"Commenting on the oddness of the team-up, Fateman wrote, "[we] found a ton of common ground in our aim to make upbeat danceable tracks celebrating female friendship, strength, and of course, PARTYING," "

I mean, who knows, but they aren't elements I see in those viral videos at all, and Le Tigre's music isn't anything like those videos either.

Anyway, the track listing for Christina's album has already been released and the songs are all... I don't remember all of them but a few are "Glam, Sex For Breakfast, Kimono Girl, Monday Morning," etc. If there's a theme in that to tie it to these videos I'll be thouroughly interested in seeing how they tie it all together. There's a sample of one of the songs on her album going around, a thirty second clip, and it's ot anything like the music in the virals.

Videos remind me of the 'Weak and Powerless' APC video more than anything. Not sure why people think it's Christina at all.

READ this URL, THEN look at the image it links to.
http://stuff.sonybmg.de/Image/Christina_Aguilera/Promo_Album.jpg

THEN go watch the most recent video. For fuck's sake, go watch all of the videos with a facial shot.

It's a match. A perfect match.

Also because i can't edit my posts to include this, i'll post it in another message...

Just because she's tied to it doesn't mean it has to be her MUSIC.
It can be her DIRECTING. Her SCRIPT. Her VISION. Just because she's done music in the past doesn't mean she'll stick to it for ever. Look at Ronald Reagan. He was in movies for how long before he became President. Look at Will Smith. In TV shows and movies before his (short lived) musical career.

My point is - She's tied to this some how. Even if it isn't the musical aspect, and something else in it.

Read back on iam's youtube and some other sites. That BMG site image has long since been deemed not real, as in, that image was posted by German xtina fans on a music blog, not actually the Sony site.

Anyway, promo photoshoots and images have already been PR'd out. We here in the music industry get her single promo pack on the 24th for the song 'Glam'.

Here is the promo-work for her first single:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/projectemo/Personal/glampromo.jpg

If these viral videos are her and she is following a theme, she isn't doing it for her album's first single. The song has been described as a poppy hip-hop inflected throwback to Madonna's Vogue.

Just.... I'm down with Christina and all but it's not her.

I like these videos and at this point the only way this could let me down is if it's some Junko-like BS.

LOL Laughing Proper linage of Will's career ~> his short lived music career, then his short television career then his colossal movie career and then his musical hobby. (Music, TV, Music, Movies, Music as a side note.)
