 [spec] Teleportation
Fact or theory?

I opened this thread to talk about teleportation as a plot element outside of entry specific speculation. I just don't buy it, and I'm hearing too many people subscribe to the "OMG 24 MEANS IT HAS TO BE!!!!1!!!ONE!"

I am trying to mentally disprove the teleportation theory by replacing it with the "Slendy is established to mess with equipment and it could all be a tape jump... rather than a body jump" mentality.
In entry 23, as he is bouncing from room to room, the level of light in the house changes, suggesting the passing of time. I think that the camera and Jay's memory both going out for a period of time and then turning back on / coming back into consciousness in a different room later is MUCH more believable that teleportation and time travel, since memory and technology have both been confirmably altered by slendy.
And in entry 24, the door trick could easily be a looped camera feed trick, a-la SPEED.
Are there any reported instance of teleportation that prove it is instant / couldn't be a camera malfunction / slendermess?

I completely agree. Teleportation and/or time travel is probably the WEAKEST idea anyone could have come up with. I especially love how almost everyone, when confronted with a new entry where one person puts down a RIDICULOUS theory, jumps right on the bandwagon. I have a piece of evidence to disprove this teleporting crap.

In entry 18, where we first come across Masky, Jay describes that, after he tried to get away from Masky, he blacked out. The camera goes off, and he regains consciousness in his car that was pulled off the road.

BUT OMG, THIIS MUST BEE TELEPORTNG AND TIME TRAFEL!!

No. It isn't. The camera simply turned off, and Jay's memory went bye bye.

In entry 23, Jay returns to the house during the day. Right off the bat, you can see visual distortion. What follows is NOT TIME TRAVEL. The camera goes dark for a few seconds video time, ad Jay wakes up somewhere else in the house. What we are supposed to BELIEVE happened is that Jay blacked out, and the camera shut off. When he regains consciousness, he simply turns the camera back on.

Now, I can already hear the cry of the teleportists (yes, my new word for you):

"BUUT WHAT ABOWT ENTREE 24?!?!"

Simple. We know that SM and Masky affect technology. So, is it not too far of a stretch to say that the video was messed with? It was made to give the impression that Jay dissapeared.

In conclusion, and I will be an ass here, TELEPORTATION/TIME TRAVEL IS WRONG AND DUMB!

I agree, although I do believe Slendy has some form of teleportation as his own method of transportation, he can't just get around by walking. But then, he IS a Paranormal Entity, I think he's kind of allowed to do it.

They're trying to make it obvious that he's teleporting. If not, they're at least trying to make us think he is. Just go with it.

Slenderman is a mythical being who wears a suit and has tentacles. "Believability" isn't an issue here.

The whole point of my post was that it ISN'T obvious. If you are going to make that claim, please support it. I'm begging to be proved wrong.
If they wanted it to be obvious that it was teleportation, and not a blackout, why does the level of light change? Why go through the trouble of either filming it in both night and day, or black out all the windows, if it's supposed to be instant?

Entry 24 pretty much confirms it, bro. He opens the door, and it doesn't open on the other side. The timestamps show the same time. It's possible someone edited the footage, I guess. But really, what seems more likely?

Yeah, what seems more likely? The fact that Jay is breaking the laws of physics and the universe or the fact that someone is just messsing with the camera?

That's what I was about to say. And besides, messing with the footage has been a running theme throughout the series, so this could easily be it happening again.

Exactly, for me it's the time stamps in 24 that bug me. If it was teleportation, the time stamps would match up. OOG I feel that these guys are good at what they do film wise, and it must be easy to fake a timestamp, so as it is out of sync, I would say it would be intentional. Although IG I'm not sure what 24 was trying to show if it isn't teleportation, except that maybe to show J that he can't hide from this? Damn it, need answers!!

in a series where hardly anything is actually confirmed beyond doubt i dont see how they could have made it clearer that the phenomena j experiences at the house in #23 he experienced real time from his perspective ... whether that amounts to teleportation or time jumping or some combination of the 2 or something else yet defined is moot but whats clear ... from the footage ... is that j is experiencing the same disorientation as we are when we watch the entry ... the shots and movement and his breathing even ... its completely fluid

Jay has had his house on lockdown. Masky is most likely a human, so he probably can't get inside to mess with the tapes. If SM has some sort of personal travel teleportation, maybe he could have gotten inside, BUT both Masky and SM would have left some serious distortion on the tapes if they altered them. I'm trying to imagine Slenderman sitting at a desk cutting and pasting the tape. And then when he plays it back, it's all static.

The thing that still puzzles me about Entry #24, is the way that J looks over his shoulder before face-planting on to the bed.

The more I watch that video, the more that I think that J looks puzzled or confused with that glance over his shoulder. Almost like he's thinking, "What the?... Didn't I just leave this room?" Or kind of like when you're driving your car while not paying too much attention, and after you've gone through an intersection you quietly wonder, "What colour was that traffic light?"
