Alas, no shirts for me. There was no sneak peek in my corner of the world.

I'm just trying to help brainstorm... I'm pretty sure the 5 codes will unlock the trailer online....

I could be the aforementioned IP addy. It could be ticket stub numbers... hell.. is there a barcode tag on the t-shirts?

and yeah, there were long pauses during WSS... but they didn't usually leave us with a code site...
it's just too much to be coincidence... 5 locations, 5 trailers, 5 codes...
Remember with the TDK trailer sneak, people won a raffle and got a joker-ized trailer reel. and each joker-ized trailer was unique.

my only other theory is that if the light-cycles are removed from the two images, and the colors converted to b&w and then run through a barcode site... something? nothing? anything? I dunno. I lack the software/skillz to do this.

First off, I examined both the inside and outside of the shirt with the blacklight, just to forstall any questions. Next, what it says on the tag:
"Standard American. American Apparel Made in Downtown LA. Vertically integrated manufacturing. Made in USA. 100% ALGODDON PEINADO lavar maquina agua fria. secar maquina temp. baja. Hecho en EUA. Talla:M. 100% coton peogne laver machine eau froide. Secher machina basse temp. Fabriquw aux EUA. M 100% Combed Cotton. Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low. M. CA15387 RN 103255" Then some stuff in japanese. Then "03-5467-3213" then 100% cotton in a few languages and symbols about not doing one thing or another.

My tag is the same.

Did you examine the tag using the black light?

Just got back to Beantown from the NYC screening. My friend and I were 4th/5th in line. Nice to you meet and you fiance Broklynite. As Broklynite indicated, there was no way anyone without a recording device was going to get anything off of the desktop screen in the fraction of a second that image was up. And yes, there was some form of 4-wheeled light vehicle included in the trailer. Also some pretty cool ancilliary characters that reminded me of what I term the "cocktail party" scene in the original (with all the wild "programs" in outlandish garb). All in all I traveled 7 hours for 2 1/2 minutes and would do it again. It's the journey folks, not the destination (least IMHO).

No black light codes on any of the 3 T-shirts we were able to snag from the event and my username does not work on the derez site. Looking forward to the next step in the game.

Now I have a Pre-PAXEast video game party to throw tonight, so I off to cook. Will load up pics (of the line, movie poster, etc) later via my blog.

quick thought on the derez codes, did anyone try loading the GPS coords for each of the 5 screenings? What about the GPS coords for the flashing cities on the Encom site. I don't have time right now to look into this further, but might be worth a check.

BTW, do you have any new achievements on your account for actually attending the preview? Were they taking the tickets you printed out or just checking them?

No new achievements.

They didn't even TAKE my ticket. They asked my last name, checked their list, asked if I had a guest....put an "x" on each of our hands with a black sharpie, and told us to go get checked in by security (bag and wand check).

Security did their thing, and told us to go get our T-shrits. Right across from the t-shirt distribution, they were checking in phones.

We even looked around the area and theater afterwards to see if there was anything "hidden" to check out (a Tron arcade cabinet, anything near the movie poster, etc. Nothing.

so... what's the deal with the phones they gave out?

Which phones?

The ones at the drops from the other day? Nobody's reported any further activity.

They didn't give out phones at the trailer event. But you had to CHECK your cell phone (like coat check), and then get it back at the end of the event. Getting it back was a madhouse. I'm very glad I left my phone in the car!

I think the numbers seen during the trailer might have been the code, and people weren't paying attention..

No. Just no.

If you'd seen the scene, you'd know better. The characters were not entirely the focus of the scene...think old UNIX screen cap with some assembler and some hex. String of numbers was blurry, even on the IMAX screen, and other than the command prompt lines, every line (and there were more than 5) were > 20 characters.

Trust me when I tell you, I went in with a critical eye, a note pad, and was looking for every detail. The characters were so fast, short of being able to pause or take a picture of the screen....and even then...you couldn't discern the individual characters on screen. And I was not the only one.

I know people behind us smuggled in a recording device. I expect the thing will be up on youtube before too long.

Yes. Nothing.

And I could direct you to look at clues during TDK that came up during "Gotham Tonight"... they were just flashes of documents that contained clues... so don't tell me "no. just no."
you could be really wrong.

Again, not having been there...you really don't know. Not to be argumentative, but...I saw the text. You didn't. And almost everyone who DID is telling you the same thing.

While the TDK stuff was "flashes", there was opportunity to either pause, screen cap, or capture the information through alternate means. Correct?

There's no such opportunity in this case.

I guess we'll see, won't we?

I think everyone needs to be a bit more respectful. We're working together, not against each other. This isn't a competition.

I'd think that any clues within the trailer are meant to be found after it goes online, which I'm still hopeful that will be soon. I'm also interested to see how the LA event goes, because of it's close proximity to 42E.

I did a little write up on the event and reactions:
