Hey folks. I created a separate forum for Tron / Flynn Lives, so you can create new threads for separate subjects. It will hopefully decompress the information density a little and make it more easy to navigate and search.

Please take a look at the forum guidelines stickied at the top of the forum before creating new threads. Thanks!

flipping the cards...

so... 27 wallets...
3 cards each right?

that'd be 81 cards...

that would leave 15 duplicate cards... that'd be 5 groups of 3-4 numbers.

Re: Time observation
Time in the computer

Hey, went to the NY showing today, and finally signed up on here after having lurked for a while! Nice to meet a few of you in person!

Not sure if it's been discussed on here (and although this really isn't about solving any clues to the ARG) but here's an observation from the trailer:
Flynn's son say "It's been a long time," and Flynn replies, "You have no idea."

The implication is that time is experience differently inside the computer than in the "real-world." In the original TRON, Flynn was only "gone" for an instant from the real world, but subjectively experienced about an hour or so (if not much more) while in the computer.

Using very conservative calculations based on:

Code:
one second "gone" from the real world = one hour of subjective time

in twenty years that's

Code:
 60 sec x 60 min x 24 hrs x 365 days X 20 years =630720000 secs of real-world time

and

Code:
630720000 x 60 sec x 60 mins = 2270592000000 subjective seconds in the computer

That translates into

Code:
2270592000000 / 60 sec / 60 min / 24 hrs / 365 days / 20 years=
3600 YEARS of SUBJECTIVE TIME INSIDE THE COMPUTER!

And that is using the MOST conservative of estimates!
He could have actually experience ORDERS of MAGNITUDE more time than that!

COOL!

Hey John, it was great meeting you today! However, I must disagree with your estimate- see my earlier calculation. My biggest argument is essentially that the chair didn't even have time to move from its position so he was able to be zapped right back to the exact falling-back spot he was in. My calcs indicate more like 1.8 million years. Even if we accept that longer than a second was spent in the computer, it's still pretty damn long as I think we can all agree.

Just as 42e knows what works and what doesn't...
So to, do the Mods here at unfiction.

Giskard has seen fit to provide us a new shiny area in which to play. Let's not mess it up.

I really, really, really HATE having to wade through all the BS to try and find something relevant.

And I'll close with one final peeve:
Not all previous posts need to be quoted.
"Post a Reply" works just fine, most of the time.

We don't know 100% but we think it's the trailer.

Just my two cents worth, but I think that the derez is going to be useful in the future- I say this because why bother taking down the old trailer from it and making new codes?

Also, rather than focusing on derez, why don't we try flipping some of these numbers we are getting over? I personally hate playing "hunt the number" so I would ask someone else to do it.

Also, I know that this is semi non-traditional but since we now have our own area, can we start a thread where we can just post images and data for easy look-up? Wading through speculation to get the actual images or numbers is difficult. Posting various analyses, even if proven incorrect might be good in another thread (like all the numbers we found analyzing the blinking chestplate- maybe those will reveal more things?).

Also, can somebody please please please post detailed instructions on how to connect to the IRC channel? I'm very IRC illiterate.

It has been little over a day...not that long ago...

Broklynite- A data thread would be helpful.

Isn't that why we have tron.wikibruce.com?

Okay, I've started a data thread with one of the only pieces of data I have on hand to immediately upload. I've started the ball rolling- can we get the various original/fixed lightcycle images and such posted? For things like lightcycles, please also make a note of any numbers/URLs/whatever you can find on there.

I thought that having a thread with just data all together would be easier than navigating a wiki.

There is the wiki but it is currently lacking people to keep it as up-to-date as I think it needs to be. Also not everyone knows about it...
