Dangit! I could do more if there were more North County locations.
Great job at Cabrillo guys, I was almost ready to hunt down one of my Naval officer friends to get me there this weekend

I think that investigating the La Jolla one would be sufficiently helpful for now, or figuring out where the Zoo one was.

Will anyone be able to reach either the zoo phone or the La Jolla phone today? I can most likely reach one or the other, but not both (since I haven't fully scouted out either).
On a side note, the new El Cajon Blvd phone should be easy for me to reach when the time comes seeing as I live a few blocks from it.

I can't go to either until Sunday. Now, if you have a choice, I would say exploring the Zoo area carefully and figuring out the right phone would be the best bet. It's likely that axon will continue to be around even if we fail it (it's a very famous landmark), so it would be better to get the right phone and mark the location for future reference.

OK, I can answer a few questions here:
1.) Zoo phones - I also tried the ones by the Photo Hut/Bathrooms near the Zoo exit. 3 ring, 1 doesn't. Went last Saturday and none of them rang... yet the next day, the axon went hot. There is a phone by the carosel and one by the Veteran's Center, but on the first Axon Day I was at the Carosel phone and was in phone contact with someone at the Veteran's Center, and neither phone rang. My only guess is that someone paid $25 to answer the phone inside the Zoo itself.
2.) La Jolla location - I scouted this out last week, but traffic prevented me from getting there on time. The phones are on the side of an administration building for the beach park, at the bottom of Jenner St. on Coast Blvd. There are two phones - the left one rings, the right one buzzes. There is also one at the top of Jenner in front of a store (by Drury Ln), but I'm pretty certain the correct phones are the ones at the beach. I'm uploading pics of these two phone locations.
I also tried the 13:53 phones today, but I thought the correct phones were at the County Administration Building. Wish I would have read this thread FIRST!
Also, the soon-to-be activated El Cajon location was one of the original (pre-Axon Day) coords - there were two and I scouted them both. This El Cajon one is at the 7-11. I didn't stop to see if the phone there rings, but I'm pretty certain that's where it is.

Okay, info updated. Thanks for the scouting.
Unfortunately that doesn't look good for the Zoo. Not that I don't mind going to the Zoo on a weekend, but I don't have a membership and I've already planned my entertainment budget. Maybe someone else can step in to check that out.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the La Jolla axon tomorrow... but I promised myself never to go to the "childrens" pool after it was taken over by the seals

Who is going where on Saturday?
13:53 at the Star of India, and
16:55 at (in?) the Zoo
are left.
EDIT: Removed La Jolla.
The Star was missed today; I can do it tomorrow.

Sorry, I haven't been able to make it out anywhere over the past few days, but I'm hoping that'll change after this weekend. With any luck I'll be able to convince my sister to join in on the action. She works in Balboa Park and can get herself into the zoo for free. She has mondays off, so I'll see if I can convince her to head down there with me and check out the inside of the zoo.

That would be helpful.
Going downtown is out of the way for me tomorrow, and I will not go on Monday. If someone is able to go handle the Star of India (someone got there just a bit too late a few days ago), that would be helpful. Otherwise I will go and handle it.

It's only a 10 minute drive for me, I should be able to snag it.

Very good, thank you. We were at the game last night, but that was a little too late, heh.
That only leaves the Zoo.

...I...actually thought it was you. I have no idea. My assumption is that it was the phones at the beach.
