For you, Mr. Anonymous.

Oh snap!

Oh also note (for the purposes of your "Video 2" section) that some instructions for growing mandrake involve watering it with milk.

Also in reference to Video 3: The myth also states that to safely uproot a mandrake, you tie a dog to the plant and lure the dog with a treat so that the dog uproots it, and the mandrake kills the dog instead of the person. A loose interpretation might be making an analogy between uprooting and birth.

Yeah, I read that after reading your first comment and after I posted. I have no doubts that it's connected to mandrake, I wasn't arguing with that, it's your assertion that it has nothing to do with anything else that I have issue with.

I mean, you either can't or refuse to see the overtly sexual imagery in video 3 and have no idea what the strawberries represent. If you don't know what everything means, shouting down other people's theories is just ridiculous.

Mistyped, I meant video 4.

I'll add these in, thank you!

The second part I'm aware of I just didn't add it in for some reason... I think because most of the mandragora lore I just linked to and didn't feel like retyping, but it probably does bear repeating.

Anonymous, I didn't say anywhere I didn't find parts of video for to be 'sexual'. In my text, I did say that I do not find video 2 to be sexual as people were taking it; that's just my opinion.

I am not the maker of these videos and I can't tell you who the artist is (I don't know) but I can tell you it is not Christina (this I do know). Sorry! If you are a Christina fan, do not stress--she does have some very amazing imagery and music coming out with her Bionic campaign that is just as artistic and aesthetically pleasing as these videos/music clups have beeb.

Nah she doesn't. Aguilera is the same bleak vessel of uncreativity, just-for-profit music and style that her dumb sheep fans seem to jump through a fire-y hoop for. Have you read the forums such as popjustice over this iamamiwhoami fiasco? The majority of them are fucking idiot tools who are as completely unaware of this situation as are the rest of us, but they take it a step further and try to justify it's x (x being a typical no-talent popstar) by throwing in whatever clues they can spew out of their infested mouths and closing their minds to whatever objects their findings. Sort of like religious people in the face of logic's finest. Fuck Aguilera fans, fuck pop fans, and I'd like to thank them personally for reminding me how much of a dumbass fanbase they all are.

I'm not a Christina fan, I don't know where you might have gotten that impression. I don't think it's Christina either. The only existing band I think it 'might' be is The Golden Filter, but where they got the budget for it from is beyond me.

I think it's likely a new band/artist, probably an independent, but again, where they got the budget for it is beyond me.

hey all. some things I notices.

- 32 seconds into the newest video is the exact same shot as the last frame of the second to last video

- Wood and disciple are in every single video (the tags)

- the word 'Welcome' is seen in the twigs in the newest video

Also, for something like this, it MAY be a new band who has friends in the film industry.

It's possible and I've thought about this possibility. Like a new artist emerging with the backup support of someone already well-respected within the industry, but one thing would always come up for me to deny this. Why would they be calling themselves 'iamamiwhoami' as if they are asking the question "Who am I?". To be asking a question like that to me seems like they expect the unknown audience to be aware of this artist already and try guessing which one it is based on what they know. So for a new artist to ask a Who am I? question would be absurd because there would have been no way for anyone to have known who they were.

I thought maybe since Mandragora officinarum was a genus name the animals would also be using their Latin genus names but there's thousands for each species so I guess that's out.

Also, letter to number theory:
Goat = 7+15+1+20 = 43
Owl = 15+23+12 = 50
Whale = 23+8+1+12+5 = 49
Bee = 2+5+5 = 12
Llama = 12+12+1+13+1 = 39
Monkey = 13+15+14+11+5+25 = 83

... nothing comes of it

I'm convinced that either the code and hair is a fake sent by a gamejacker or whoever it is making this thing has just made it way too cryptic. There aren't enough clues to figure this out.

I mean, if you take it at its most obvious we're supposed to add up what each animal says.

That could mean that we add up the spare numbers from each video (did that, nothing came of it), we're supposed to add up the actual noises the animals make (how the hell are we supposed to do that?), we add up the coded messages (haven't tried but it just seems like grasping at straws), we're supposed to add up what each video symbolises (again, how do you add up concepts and what would they add up to?)

I mean, are we supposed to see each animal as what they look like or what they're named as on the linked videos? How exactly would this have worked out if we still had the videos of the animals instead of the clipart pics?

None of it makes sense so I'm leaning towards this being a clever gamejack.

as 'Thereisnootherway' pointed out:
1st to 2nd vid = 34 days
3rd = 18 days
4th = 16 days
5th = 12 days

EDITED nevermind. the last video (6) was only eight days after the fifth. not ten like the pattern would imply.

I believe that next week will be either the last video (the reveal) or the third to last video. why?

the newest video says: Welcome" and "I am" so the next video may be the artist revealing themselves OR the next video may say "am I" then the next "who am i?" and then the last video being the reveal.

Vox, you stated exactly what I was thinking and pretty much what I wrote over at my blog. I completly agree with you in thinking it is a game jack or that the blogger over at MTV News' blog is 'in' on and promoting this thing.

Lame sauce.

Sorry for the double post but I wanted to emphasize this because one of the videos originally featured footage of a whale shark... Which is a shark, and not a whale. The Clip Art Animal Replacement (tm) is now a humpback whale though, so... You have two completely different animals from original video to edited video to 'paper puzzle'.
