Could also be two. o.o Black-jacket Masky shows up once, yellow-jacket Masky shows up in 19 and 23. (Lol, black-jacket, yellow-jacket: hornet parallels~!)
Or, it could be that black-jacket Masky was only wearing a sweater. Yellow-jacket Masky could have been wearing such because he was cold. XD In 23 it could be that he had just come in to see Jay, instead of lingering around the house?
(Or it could be in 18 that he was trying to blend in a little better... who knows!)

Maybe Masky cares about personal hygiene.

Hee hee, yeah! He seemed to clean the blood out of the sink at the house before J's second visit, too. He's just a clean fella.

Well, but he'd left dried blood in there for some time on his first visit. Maybe he was trying to scare Jay off in #16 without having to confront him.
But yeah, anyways... it could make some sense if Masky WAS one person who was simply a round character instead of a flat one. If this game is an alternate reality experience, it would be dumb to make a flat character because that's not how it works in real life. Changing clothes from day to day and changing the way he acts based on the situation makes more sense.
XD Been too busy trying to tease out the deeper secrets to look at things that way before. Durrr~

ah, but my idea is that if they've become puppets of Slender Man then they only have a few shreds of humanity left, and thats all the have to their personality.
But keep in mind this is just a theory.

I dunno, if Tim could sit through an entire interview (albeit nervously) and seem normal enough to pass as human, and he is Masky (or one of a number) I don't buy that the Maskies are Slenderpuppets. It would be weird if they were only under his control some of the time.

True, but the interview with Tim was before Masky even appeared

You're right about that! Just seems weird to me that this would all crop up immediately after the interview with Tim when the start of these shenanigans began three and a half years ago!

Back on topic - This is probably old news - but entry 19 apparently happens after J gets back home after entry 18. In entry 18 Masky is wearing a black jacket, and in 19 he's wearing a yellow one, and yet they both take place in the same night. Masky may have just changed his jacket for some reason, or it could be my supporting my theory of 3 Masky's...
Also his mask seems slightly different in each entry that he appears in.
Actually, you're not correct about 19 taking place immediately after 18. If you rewatch 19, go to 0:41
"All of the following clips take place two nights after I return from the house in Entry 18"
Of course, that doesn't mean that its not 3 different people. But the odds of Masky changing his jacket in 3 nights are very possible.

Masky wasn't really outside in #18. The jacket could be what he wears when he does go out, the black thing might just be an overcoat because he's chilly in the house.
(then again, more than one Masky would be terrifying an awesome. )

Liking this theory. The increasing degree of slender-ness in Masky might explain the camera malfunctions while he was creepin' in Jay's bedroom. Perhaps the exaggerated features on the mask are meant to compensate for the wearer's gradual loss of humanity?
Or maybe I've taken one too many English Lit. classes.

I like this. You can never take too many English Lit. classes.
Although...could the mask be covering the scars of a botched suicide attempt...Hence the shell casing...the blood in the sink...
I have the image in my head of SM putting a hand (or whatever he has) on Masky's shoulder whispering, in a not quite human voice, "Not...yet..."

Hey guys, I'm TechnoViking. I picked this series up a week ago and I'm loving it (though I'm not loving the lack of sleep I'm getting as a result). Anyway, got a theory about Masky that I haven't seen posted anywhere but if it has please be forgiving.
I think the people who are maskies aren't aware that they're maskies. We already know that someone (presumably Slendy) has the power to make Jay get up in the middle of the night, leave to some unknown location for hours and return with no memory of the incident. If he can do it to one person it stands to reason that he can do it to others. This would explain why Tim is so normal in Entry 15, he has no idea what he really does at night.
In "Return" when we see Jay's face painted to look like Masky's mask it's Slendy's way of saying "You're NEXT" and when Jay leaves the bed closet in Entry 23 and sees the mask hanging on the wall it's not Masky's mask, it's Jay's mask or it will be once Slendy is done breaking him down. In Entry 22 when Alex says "everyone is gone" it could mean that everyone has become a masky and thus can't be trusted because they could turn at any moment.
Ok, I just rewatched Entry 22 and I noticed that Alex also lists Jay as being "gone" however he could have simply assumed Jay had also become a mask (who knows? maybe he did) or he was too busy getting the hell out of dodge to find out.
So that's my mask theory. Feel free to tear it to pieces.
