Oh and in chat, Ztinky mentioned he chose all image names etc. at random, so that can't really be a connection either... Neutral

If the image names are chosen at random, the coincidence of an image of a stop sign being called stop is outstanding.
Maybe the odds of this happening lead to the next part of the trail. Rolling Eyes

EDIT: After 15mins of this i know what would be really clever, if the answer was 'hide', connatations with all possibilities. BUT it isn't is it. IS IT!. *mumbles to self*

Well.. Not to confuse you without having too, I'll explain it here.
I only named pics randomly, which I didn't have a name for at the moment they were saved. There is no clue in any filename - yet.

This is actually my first trail, so forgive me if this is something considered and dismissed off of the board, but...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
maybe the titles in the css are also misleading, and it's the numbers that are important? I just find it odd to have a font set at 13 pixels; it's such a weird number for a font size. I've thought about it, though, and nothing pops out at me from the numbers themselves.

156, 8, 13, 12, 130

percentages

well, 12 x 13 = 156. or fitness x font size = food? although it doesn't make too much sense for font size to be involved, it would be simpler if it was based around the three "weird" percentages, food, vegetables and fitness. most obviously working out your fitness using your vegetable intake as a percentage of your overall food intake. but 8% of 156% is 12.48, so maybe we can try and work out the constant that you need to use to make it work, and the constant will be the answer.

too bad i suck at math.

Found the next step.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The subject described in they style sheet eats 156% as much food as he should, only eats 8% of the vegetables that he should, and is 12% as fit as a normal person. This combined leads us to believe that our subject is very

unhealthy.html

I solved a puzzle for once. I am so insufferably pleased with myself.

The walpaper looks like a composite of this found by google images walnut.

No evidence of stegging so I think the clue is in the text. Could shells be refering to unix shells?

I found a branch from the walnuts page, but I'm not sure it's the right one.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The walnet wallpaper isn't one tiled image, it is itself a huge tile that exceeds normal monitor resolutions. Down in the bottom right corner is a filename pointing to

nothing-to-find-here.html

Follow-up to Danin's post.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The image on nothing-to-find-here.html is stegged.

The picture contains the following text: ooexpjlcsjohmxxfnjsgzaqp

JPHS for Windows, with no password. So I'm not going to vouch for the text being 100% correct, but that's what it pulled.

the source code reads:
<Html>
<heAd>
<tiTle>1</titlE>
</head>
<body>
What's going on?

</body>
</HTML>

capital letters read HATEHTML or HATEWHTML if you include the W in "What". neither work as answers Confused

I've been following this quite interestedly, and been very impressed by everyone's puzzle-solving abilities! Vignere ciphers? I hadn't even heard of them before!

Anyway, here's my 2p, do with it what you will.

Has anyone tried doing anything with the Titles of the various pages as you work along the trail?

Here's what we have, in order:

http://www.brejningelev.dk/lir/trail/ Title: 0
http://www.brejningelev.dk/lir/trail/quite-unsuitable-for-minors.html Title:0
http://www.brejningelev.dk/lir/trail/unsuitable/fur.html Title: URL
http://www.brejningelev.dk/lir/trail/unhealthy.html Title: 1
http://www.brejningelev.dk/lir/trail/nothing-to-find-here.html Title: 0
http://www.brejningelev.dk/lir/trail/what-are-you-waiting-for.html Title: 1

Where URL implies that the title was the same as the URL for the page.

So that is, 00101 (discounting the fur.html page which was a bit of a red herring, since it wasn't necessary to view that page to follow the trail)

So, can anything be done with that?

Also, I looked at the capitalisation, noted by grumpyboy, and tried various letter combinations (e.g. wheat.html), and number combinations (looking at the position of the capitalisation in the words gives 1335.html for example, though that leads nowhere).

Finally, I've also tried simply answering the question on the page, e.g. nothing.html (since nothing's going on) but that didn't work. I also looked at the question cryptically, the answer to "What's going on?" might be progressing, since that is what "going on" is. So perhaps a synonym of "going on" would lead to the web address? Note that "going on" can also mean "going on top of", or e.g. music or clothes can "go on". Too many synonyms for one person to cope with *whimper*

Other people might be able to use these lines of enquiry to further pursue this, so I thought I'd write it all down here, for you to laugh at quietly while you go about your sophisticated code-breaking techniques Wink

Since you already found the answer, I'll lead you to:
