I almost beat the thing once, but he kept taking critical pieces, and so after I was done with my defense I was left with pieces facing all the wrong ways. grrrrrrr.

I seem to beat it about 4 out of 5 times... there is an element of luck involved in how you start, and in in who's favor more of the pieces are facing.

I continuously end up with 20 moves of gaining, losing and regaing a chunk of the field, and they always end up in my opponents advantage Sad

Exactly. The defense/offense thing's pretty tough... sometimes you have to give up the right pieces to give you an upper hand on defense.

You also have to minimize damage whenever you see him preparing to strike.

Ooh, I beat it after my second try! I just kept spinning the pieces backwards and taking whatever he took, and eventually he dwindles down and loses. HA HA! The day is mine!
