I know I'm a tiny bit late to the party, but I've been looking forward to this game.

We have an even larger ARG in development that launches in early 2010. Itʼs truly global,
and I believe it stands a real chance of being the largest ARG in the world next year.

Things are bound to get interesting. Count me in. Very Happy

Updaaaaaaateeeee!

Wow I must look like some crazy stalker - I saw Anna's blog update even before Lewis updated his twitter. O_o

What I think we have to do:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
On the buy and sell part of the site it says to buy you must register first with the site, and top right there's admin panel access... just needs a username... you thinking what I'm thinking?

edit: Dannochka, I'm not Russian but I'd love to see it if you do write it! Smile

Looks like there's another update! http://www.secretlewis.com/blogs/blog3.html

I had a search around for collectors who might be interested in Turner. There aren't many individuals who can afford that kind of wallpaper – most Turner owners are museums or galleries or banks. But there have been a few purchases lately, and I'm guessing that our collector made one of them.

In particular, there was an anonymous bidder who successfully bought a Turner landscape at Southwaite's Auction House. Anonymous = suspicious.

Here's another chance for you to show my why Lewis has such faith in you. There must be a way to figure out who that anonymous bidder was. Go to Southwaite's and see what you can find.

Leading us to a new site at http://www.southwaites.com/

Quick solve notes, because it's not exactly challenging...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There's an obvious admin login in the top right, so let's go there... of course, we need a username and password! The admin has helpfully set up a password reminder system, so we just need a username.

admin doesn't work... hmm, let's try another route. Going to the news page we can see that the posts are all made by RHouseman, so let's try that (capitalisation is important)... bingo, we have a terribly insecure (Razz) reminder! "Your password is the artist who created Guernica."

A quick google reveals that Guernica is a Picasso work, so the password is Picasso... and we have access to Mr Houseman's account. Wonderful. Sorry for the bit.ly link, but the url tag doesn't like wikipedia links with brackets for some reason.

From here, the information we want is client details - specifically, the bidding history of all of our clients here. A quick search on the page for "Turner" reveals that one Stevin Rafanaman of Melbourne has successfully bid on "Turner (Romantic Masters, 2009)", and also has asked to be notified whenever any new Turner pieces are up for auction.

Incidentally, our admin here doesn't know how to spell Marvel (as in the comics publisher) Razz

Quick answer, for those lazy:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The man we're after is Stevin Rafanaman

Damnit Lex, Speedy Gonzales or what! I spent like 20 minutes going from completely the wrong angle until I realised and went "oh, I suck, look it works now) :)

I must say, the admin of that site needs to beef up his security just a tad... password reminders?! Oh dear.

(I like the effort that's gone into the site, too, well worth attempting to do this one yourself just so you read around the site, esp the internal mail - I liked the smoking comment. You could see that on any notice board  )

Absolutely - I went looking around to see if I could find any addresses/locations... so I could find out where their local was for quiz night! Razz

That would be so awesome... I wonder if there will be some outside elements to the game at some point? :: Daydreams ::

Wonderfull, you were first, wanted to post this whole thing myself! Nice work!

Also, lets keep in mind the following names:

RHouseman, David -Manager and Robinho (sales guy), all employees.
Most of the time this stuff has insiders...

Also, 1 more thing..

On the blog, anna says that the painting was Sold to an annonymous guy, but on the client list, it only tells us that "the guy" only placed a successfull bid, but not a successfull sell, which could mean that the painting is not even sold, while it does say on there site...

hmm... i sense some dark stuff going on Wink

Well, he does know about secure passwords...

PASSWORDS

As you know I'm quite vociferous with regard to security. Our clients demand it as do I. Please remember to renew your passwords at least once a month. 7-15 characters including letters, numbers and punctuation.

As ever I will be testing accounts at random. If I access any, a day's salary will be forfeited by the unfortunate party to a charity of my choice. Be warned!

RHouseman

... but he fails to apply his own policy. We should mail him and demand that he donates a day's salary to unfiction. Wink

1 more very important thing:

We can be quite sure that the guy we are looking for is somehow connected to Melbourne, since the next Formula 1 GP is in Melbourne and the story needs somehow to go to over there for Lewis to have input in the whole thing.

Think we are deffinetly on the right track.

Well, the key mentions "successful" and "failed" bids - I assume a successful bid won the item, while a failed one did not.

That, and our man is the only one to mention Turner on the page. Plus the Melbourne connection you note.

Lovely, I managed to solve this myself without needing the walkthrough. I love it when that happens, as it's pretty rare Wink
