Welcome CaitlinMcfly!
The biggest problem I see with the con idea is that thus far, all of the events have been on the same day in most of the world (issues with international dateline notwithstanding). If they do use them as their basis, that more likely means a progressive sort of puzzle, with each one adding to a much grander finale. That said, I can't believe thei wouldn't do something to coincide with SDCC - but I don't think they'd be issuing these badges quite this early and broadly for just that.

Well, Jeff Bridges did say in the interview that came out today (the one that all the media sites are running from a one-day visit months back) that he'd be going to Comic-Con this year and that it'd be his first. So they definitely have something planned for this years SDCC, but if it has anything to do with the whole ENCOM thing is anybodies guess.

...on a similar vein of thought...thinking about ENCOM "INTERNATIONAL"...
meaning places all around the world....It would not make good sense to ONLY have one exclusive event (i.e. SDCC)?
Like you imply...most of the events have happened all around the globe (Gridlock Rendevous + PitCell Screenings).
My educated guess is a multi-prong ENCOM event...now how that goes down...not sure...maybe via webcast across the world?
Although just like the Pitcell, one location might be the host or special location (Bridge IMAX example with special guests showing up)

Which 'all the media sites' are you speaking of? I know of only one article at this point. I just did a run through some of the sites that one article mentions, and the others haven't posted anything yet (MTV, ComingSoon, FirstShowing.net).

I was at Comic-Con last year and the only way to get into the Arcade from my understanding was you had to be given the "swag bag" that had all the cool Tron stuff at the Disney 3-D panel. So even though the end event took place off site you still had to be at Comic-Con to get the stuff to start you on your journey.
It totally sucked because we had planned on seeing that panel but people started lining up for Hall H almost 18 hours before it started, which always seems to happen now. Also the panel that had Tron was before the Twilight panel so you had people camping the room all day to see that one thing and it made it so everyone that wanted to see the earlier panels were S.O.L.
I totally can relate, they the cut the line off to get into Hall H right in front of me. I really felt like Charlie Brown. No joke, had I been one person ahead, I would have been able to get into Hall H, but alas, I was one person too late.
While they did hand out Flynn's Arcade tokens at the Disney 3D panel, you didn't have to be given any swag to get into Flynn's Arcade. All you had to do is know where it was and get in line. That's what I did and I got in. Also, there were folks trying to hand out Flynn's Arcade flyers and tokens to attendees, but most folks were ignoring the people passing out the flyers.

Jeff Bridges was at Comic Con last year, so if he's going this year, it wouldn't be his first. Perhaps you're referring to an old interview or perhaps the Dude is still smoking the good stuff.

A search for 'jeff bridges tron legacy' at google news will show the interview. It's pretty much an identical interview at all sites listed.
I think it must be last years he's referring to, not this years. My bad!

This is from the interview:
Quote:
Where you surprised at that reaction?
Bridges: Yeah, a little bit. I haven't been to Comic-Con. I'm going to go to this one coming up but I hear it's kind of a crazy thing.
But I think it must refer to last years.

JB was referring to last year's Comic Con...principal filming for Tron Legacy was completed a week before last year's Con...also, my friend's dad saw him there in the press room.
ALSO! If the Press Conference is in San Francisco...if someone goes and some sort of special merch is handed out...mind grabbing a second? ;D (I'll trade someone a Flynn's Arcade Token or 3...at Comic Con I asked for extra and the guy gave me like 10)

You know it kind of annoying that some people are *guessing* about this "event at Wondercon" based on vague evidence. This speculation or guess is not solid information or confirmation yet some people and websites are regarding this *guess* as a sure thing.
What if Flynn Lives is doing multiple events, in mulitple major cities across the US and in UK an Australia?
I hope one of these is in Los Angeles, because, frakk... San Fransico is over 800 miles from me, and I havn't the means to get to San Fran on my own.

Yeah, I'm not sure it's going to happen at a con myself, but I think if it is it will have to be Wondercon just based off of the information that has been released so far. That said, again, I don't think it will be con-related personally.

I purchased a 4 day badge w/ preview day for San Diego Comic Con 2010 at the last Comic Con in 2009.
There's going to be somekind of special event or special Tron Legacy panel but it most likely will be on Thurs. like last year.
