There's been some speculation that "Lila" having gone missing is some sorto of clue. (I sort of wondered the same thing myself when I first read it.) There is also speculation as to whether she got "digitized" into the same computer world as Flynn, as well as the observation that Flynn's server is not connected to the Internet, but instead was an isolated server.

Well, we do know from the trailer that somehow, from this "isolated server" of Flynn's, that he was able to send a "beeper" message to Alan. So, presumably, his server is at least connected somehow to the telephone system. In that case, it is at least possible that his server can connect to the internet via a modem or some other such similar means throught the telephone system.

Just some more to think/speculate about!

I think we are a little too stuck in the 80s think when we take 'page' to mean an old fashioned 'beeper' pager. Most cellular voicemail offers the option to 'page this user', which today sends just the phone number to the cell phone. Not sure exactly if they mean a modern SMS type page, or an old fashioned pager system page. The latter would make a bit more sense really, since it's a bit more unlikely Alan would still have the old style pager and service. Either one would work via regular phone service (land line aka POTS).

Just got my badge today too, and I'm in a suburb outside of Chicago. 1:05 on postage, and the stamp was from stamps.com. Just saying.

The Lila thing scared me too... what happened to her? D: I wish we had more info about the "Killer" party. :<

Also, what is a J-93? Some tax form or something?

Same thing as a TPS report.

Has anyone tried to see if there is anything hidden on the badge behind the sticker?

Also, perhaps the timestamps on the messages have meaning.

location of the building
maybe there's more to this

On the login page with the updates on it: it says that we are having a press conference in the next few weeks and that the west coast branch is excited for it.
It has a picture of the San Fransisco skyline and it happens to be that Wondercon is happening in a few weeks there (April 2-4, 2010), maybe a meetup?

Hi Kabopple, sorry to Trout you ( Trout ) but we have been debating that for a bit:

Do you think it will be at Wondercon? Are you in San Fran? Local feet on the ground during the con would be a huge help...

Welcome to uF, nice to have you aboard!

I just got my badge from the mail. Did a side kick in the air, and gonna log in soon.

Also, as said before, there may be some overthinking going on on the badges, not saying there are clues on the Encom site, but the badges might just be as is.

But be my guess on overlooking at them, it's really fun imo.

Got my badge today! I had to go home to get some furniture delivered and decided to check the mail. Exciting!

Also, for reference, I'm in the Nashville area, and this is my first post (I think).

Just got my badge in the post today. It hasn't been a full week and I live in Louisiana. Go figure.

Group 7 Access as well. The holographic sticker and silver accents make a nice touch. Feels more "real" to me.

I went over the entire contents of the package including the envelope itself with a 68 LED UV flashlight (These are frequently used for forensic work.) and found that aside from the usual markings on the postage stamp, there was no other mark revealed by UV. That's not to say that there are no hidden items coded into the ID, just none I could discern with my light.

I have logged into the Intraweb and read the posts in my Inbox. Seems like what others are posting. Same e-mails.

Perhaps this system will be used to notify us of the upcoming conference.
I would suggest to all that we keep on checking in and keep exploring the site as much as we can. Some new functionality to the Verbisware system may be added in the future and of course we will likely use this system to be given our next clues.

Well, here's to the cause and to the hours of data analysis to discern if there is some clue in what we already have access to.

Cheers,

AG

Also, a special thanks to Zach for getting us in. Anything you need bub, let me know.

got my badge today as well. pretty much the same as everyone else, level 7 clearance. $1.05 postage stamp from Stamps.com

If there is a meet up in San Fran, I will be sad. Seem like I miss out on all the cool action and swag (minus the too cool Encom Badge). I would kill for a Flynn arcade token. Very Happy

Didn't see it in the thread.
I assume the QR Codes are the same on all the badges and decodes to the link to the intranet site? I can't find my QR reader to use on any of the posted images, ATM.

NM. I see where it was referenced, now. No idea how I missed that, earlier. Must've been not rolling back far enough after a bunch of pages of comments went up.
