D*A*S*H* 2 (Different Areas--Same Hunt the second)
a puzzle hunt on April 24 (2010)
Event from Sat Apr 24, 2010 9:30 am to Sat Apr 24, 2010 6:00 pm

D*A*S*H* (Different Area--Same Hunt) is a puzzle hunt on April 24, which will be run in the cities of Austin, Bay Area (CA), Boston, Davis (CA), Los Angeles, NYC, Portland (OR), Santa Rosa, Seattle, and Washington DC. Puzzle designers in each city have contributed one clue to the event, and each event will use all the clues from the contributing cities. In other words, the clues for each city's hunt will be the same, only the locations will be different.

Teams of players (recommended for teams of 2-4 players) will enjoy a fun, interactive event in which they race to find and solve creative puzzles hidden in different locations. This is a single-day event, designed for transportation by foot (and public transit).

BrianEnigma and I played last year, and although some of the puzzles kicked our butts, had a very good time. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28316

This sounds like fun; but if you and BriEnigma couldn't solve all the puzzles, I don't have a prayer! I'll be sure to let the IGDA group here (I mean, NYC) know about it, if they don't already.

I played in last year's DASH in San Francisco and thought it was a little tough, though, like ouroboros, we had a lot of fun. I'm helping out this year and I have to say there's a real effort to make puzzles more beginner-friendly. Hints are always available to the frustrated and there's the option to skip a puzzle if it's not being enjoyed.
