I don't recall the same tearing happening in Jay's videos, but correct me if I'm wrong. Now I'm off to watch the video again a million times!

The visual tearing happens in entry #16, which is filmed by J. I'm sure it's happened in other J videos, too.

Ah, thank you.

Entry 23 had all sorts of weird shit going on, distortions and what not. I'm pretty sure there's a tear in there somewhere. Entry 19 too, but that one's a gimme.

Did no one else notice Mr. Thin standing in the crowd, watching the blaze? At 1:09, during the home video. That tall dark thing. Mr. Thin. I'm thinking that maybe he's not trying to get to J, infact, he didn't even set it. He's just watching J, making sure something does, or doesn't, happen.

I was just pointing out that it was at the exact same spot where almost all of alex's videos tear, I thought, maybe Alex filmed that, maybe different cameras are affected differently by Slendy.

OOG, I'm pretty sure the news footage is actual news footage that's been dubbed over and edited. If you watch closely, you can see that the lips don't sync perfectly on the broadcasters, and the closing shot is just some of the earlier footage that's been reversed and slowed down slightly. The video tearing can easily be edited in (as it always is).

It's very good editing, of course, but I doubt they added a Slendy into the footage. I'm going to film school next year, so I speak from at least a bit of experience when I say "that would be really hard to do". Razz

Unless they, you know, pulled a real broadcast, spliced out some real home footage, added in their down using a blue-screen, roughed it up, and then played it back on a tv. Just saying.

My little brother's a producer, so I'm kinda versed as well.

Just wanting to point a little something I noticed out.

At 0:30, before Slendy (or whatever it is) goes in but after he pulls the door off, the enterance looks like the first image.

But at 1:32ish you see the door again, and it seems very different. In my opinion, something could be coming out of it. Something big.

Wow, I didn't even notice the door flying off. Masky has powers?

I actually don't think that it's Slendy knocking down the door. If someone was there who shouldn't have been, I think they would have been noticed by the news crew or at least the firefighters on sight. Knocking down a door causes a lot of noise and firefighters would definitely check out what happened if someone else did it. I think it's just a firefighter.

I'm not so sure on the other instances where Slendy's been sighted, but I don't know. *shrugs*

For people who think the series has become boring and full of filler, look at earlier entries like Entry 8 and Entry 3. Nothing happens in Entry 3, and Entry 8 is only a few seconds long. Even though the nature of the videos and the entries has changed, it's still a mix of so-called mundane things happening and paranormal things happening. I don't know, not directed at anyone, but that's just what I think of when people claim and entry is just filler.

Well then you'll know how ridiculously expensive and impractical it would be for five or six college students to pull off something of this scale; burning a building down, getting the fire department involved, hiring hundreds of extras and bringing in a fake news van.

I think sometimes people forget that MH doesn't make any money from this whole thing. And look at Alex's apartment/Brian's house. Does it look like they have the money to pull off this sort of thing?

On the other hand, I do like BranRainey's editing suggestions, involving slowing down and dubbing. That makes a lot of sense. And I agree, I don't think that they added Slendy into it. That would take mad skilz. Especially the part with the door that falls down. It doesn't look added in at all. The only way to do that is to either film it yourself or use some photoshopping type stuff that would look totally obvious. That said, I also don't honestly think it looks like Slendy. I think it looks like a concerned fireman reaching out to pull the door down. The height illusion seems to be because of normal shadowing/artifacting effects. But it doesn't look like anything supernatural.

Last I checked, he pulled it off for....50 buck, gear included? And I only meant greening in Slendy standing in the crowd. Its not that hard, when you really get down to. Sure, you won't get the absolute best results, but you know what? I think they wanted that. A rough look would be easer to muss up. The rest was likely real footage.

All this really takes is a copy of after effects and time.

Right, but that was exposition. Most people expect there to be a climax, with more things happening that happened at the beginning, since most of the beginning was supposed to just grab attention and bide time to get more viewers. I think they just want more information brought to the table, or more puzzles/more Slendy. The only things this video verifies are that fire is in play, TTA put up ######, Jay is still talking to someone in the area, and Jay is still somewhere in the area, since this was a local instead of a nationwide news broadcast. But it doesn't advance anything character-wise about Jay, Alex, Slendy, or even Masky.

Although I will say that I'm not looking for the same kind of ending that a lot of people are. I think it would be much better for Jay to lose to Slendy, and for whatever the final conflict is not to directly involve Slendy. On camera, that is. I don't want Slendy bested, and I don't want Jay to make it through this without some kind of loss. I don't want it to reveal all this backstory about Slendy. Slendy has to stay mysterious and has to keep disappearing people or it just doesn't work. It's not Slendy's endgame, it's Jay's; Slendy's done this for centuries and he will do it for centuries more.

lol sorry - I read your original post wrong. I just woke up...sorry D: I thought you had said actually filming it all themselves. The burning building and everything. But that makes total sense. Sorry, I mixed it up.

First piece of text on this video

Cool

Ohhh, talking about the last video.
I thought everyone was trying to say TTA put this one up too.
...also I thought it'd been the general consensus that TTA uploaded it anyway rofl.

That's okay, I know the pre-coffee fugue state all too well. Plus, they didn't even really need a green when I look back. He takes up the whole of the length of the frame, which is the hardest part to disguise. The door, however, would have taken some real tomfoolery. Which I think they did. It just doesn't feel like something a fire fighter would do.

Watching this after like 3am, I do see how that figure by the door could look like Slendy, and I do see a tall dark figure standing in the crowd.

Honestly I might buy that being Slendy, since that's not a flame shot. It's after the fire has died down and crowds have mostly dissipated. Maybe in a couple of days' time. I can see the fire department letting people up near it then. That's provided it's a recent event and they tracked it down, which I'm really not sold on one bit. But, I can see how they could've pulled it off.

I can't see enough of the guy in the crowd to really make out anything important, though.

Whether they edited things into an actual broadcast or created the news footage themselves (most likely the first), it's done damn well. I don't even care if the entry is short or 'filler.'

I'm seeing the tall shape in the crowd around 1:05-1:10 (as well as the figure that rips off the door earlier), and I want to say that it's Slender Man but I can't see enough detail. Could be a telephone pole or something.
