[SPEC]: One more week of Axons.

Now, there isn't too much evidence to support this, and perhaps this is just wishful thinking, but, upon further observation of the axons and their listings in the "fun stuff" section, I believe there will only be one more week of axon-searching.

let me explain: the first set of axons appeared on the "amazing facts" page, which was the first page of the "fun stuff" section. the second set showed up on "hive-ku", which is the second page of the "fun stuff" section. this week's axons are now in "the fable of the bee", which, following the simple pattern, is the third page of the "fun stuff" section.

so, I propose that next week will mark the last week of axon-searching. the rest of the pages in the "fun stuff" section are recipes, and I'm pretty sure the Sleeping Princess is hiding in there (there being "the kitchen") for now.

what do you guys think? is this [TROUT]?

Hmm, good point there. Considering that the Queen seems to be going down the list of the 'fun stuff' links, do you think that once she gets to the 'kitchen' (recipe pages) she'll discover traces of the Princess snooping on her? Of course, the Princess has proven quite resourceful, so that may not be the case.

Secondly, have you noticed that the axon quotas have been prime numbers so far? 1, 2, 3, 5... so, if your 'one more week' spec is true, then the last axon quota would be 7, an appropriate number to end with (especially for a Bungie related game).

Yup, but it would be 7/15, which means that we could go well over the 777/777 quota that we've been given (?). Maybe we can go over, but it seems unlikely.

1's not a prime number. But that makes sense, other than that Smile

I don't see why we wouldn't be able to go over 777/777. After all we manage to go over 2/2 et al. on most of the groups each week so far.

Fibonacci numbers? If so, the next would be 8.

EDIT: Fibonacci numbers info.

but that would be 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 (which, I guess is what we have counting the 2 sets in the recipe3.html page.)

Oh good gods, what a mess that would be... having to connect 8 out of 15 axons... I had 10 to try to do today, one for each from taxes_suck through thin_kinkle. Someone, if not everyone, would have LOTS more axons to light up.

Your probably right with the prime numbers. The recipe axons were from the Sleeping Princess, and she is just trying to help us out to listen in on the Queen. So the recipients of her transmissions have been 2, 3, and 5. I guess if we got 777, the rest probably just wouldn't be added. Or else all axons would automatically be changed to success.

...and really, how long can they expect this to hold our interest?

It's like turning on a TV program and catching the same episode
over and over again.

Or like that ST:NG episode where they are all playing poker: 3.

I have a feeling that there will be a set of 7/7 required axons and they will be made up of the set of all the axons that have actually gone hot. Does anyone know how many distinct axons have been connected so far?

Hey Robynn,

I have seen a lot of people asking for a distinct listing of all of the axons, but I have not seen one compiled yet.

I know the main link everyone is posting for the fable axons is http://www.lou2.net/bees/fable-coords.html

I spent about 5 hours this morning going through, and compiling all of the axons so far. I hope everyone finds this compilation useful. I will also post it in the main FABLE thread in The Haunted Apiary (Let Op!): Axon Coordination.

I created columns for LINKS, HIVEKUTS, and FABLE to show whether the axon existed before, and if it went HOT. The table is current as of 11:30 PDT on 9/8/04.

Good points raised regarding the axon quota numbers. I suppose that if we exclude the quotas the Princess gave us, we'd have a true progression of prime numbers. On the other hand, if we include them, we get a Fibbonaci sequence (sans 0). I guess next Tuesday will reveal the pattern, if any.

Personally, I'm hoping that next week will indeed be the last week for axons. I mean, you can only make people track down payphones for so long.

To go into wild spec, perhaps the Queen will enter the 'kitchen' (recipe*.html), and will notice that someone's been copying and stashing data in the pantry. Things would go to hell in a handbasket at that point, as the Queen would go into Murder Death Kill mode (considering her reaction to Dana). Heck, it might even put us in the predicament of choosing side: The Queen or the Princess.
