Mods, perhaps this should move to the Chaotic Fiction section, as we have a bona fide ARG on our hands?

Here's a good pace to start...the wiki!

I would be really surprised if anyone catches the runners. If they do, it because the runner wanted to get caught.

I heard those two crafty runners - Repo Alex and Will - won!
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
(Ok - so maybe I am Repo Alex - I was a little taken aback that unfiction wasn't on this.)

Congrats, Alex!
I think a number of people from unfiction (myself included) were following this...just not so much on the unfiction forums themselves. The IRC channel quickly became the place for discussion.

Ah! You're on unfiction, that's pretty cool. Seeing as I just spent the last month chasing you, I feel almost like I'm in the midst of greatness.
To be honest, I had you figured as going down first. You seemed like a party girl. You ended up being the smartest of the four, in my opinion.
Congrats, and enjoy the cash!

Congrats Alex, hopefully you got your bonus soon enough to pick up some NIN swag off EBAY.

Thanks! And yeah. That's definitely true. I guess I never expected it to be so centrally organized into one main congregation and for it to spread out over some different ARG sites/forums. It makes more sense though.

Yeah - I usually would lurk around unfiction at the time of the Dark Knight ARG, and more recently, the Tron ARG. If I hadn't been on this run, I definitely would have been at the 3D trailer hunt in LA for Tron. I'm a huge ARG/treasure hunt/riddle nerd.
And - heh. Me - great? Naw, I just got really lucky when it comes down to it. I was actually an alternate (meaning I was the FIFTH one of the list of contenders for running), so I wasn't really supposed to go. I didn't actually find out that I had made it until a day before we were sent out for the contest. I only had 17 hours to pack. One of the most hectic days... ever.
And I thought it was funny that a lot of you guys assumed I was this huge alcoholic party girl who would get caught first - I actually read a lot of what you guys were saying in chat live and chuckled to myself. I never got drunk during the whole trip and actually had to lie to a lot of people who tried to get me to go to bars with them, because I was afraid of not being in control of my senses at all times. Also, most of the time I would have rather stayed in for the night and read up on what everyone was saying in chat, than go out to see the city I was in (as hard as that was to really be able to experience the foreign places I visited).
And thanks for the words. The hunters were pretty smart as well - a lot of you guys scared the crap out of me. I still have nightmares about getting repo'ed (and I'm really not kidding... it's like some form of PTSD).

Heh. I wish I could buy one of those instruments being thrown into the ebay pile for NIN. When I get my money (in about 30-75... yikes!), I'll probably only be able to put it towards an apartment with a friend in LA, so I can actually get my foot in towards a job in the film industry without having to make the three hour drive of hell through traffic every day to get there.
And I'm jealous that you have an ID number from the Year Zero ARG! At the time that was going on, I was too busy with college soccer and classes to even pay attention.

Not only did I miss a totally awesome viral concept, someone actually came through NEW ORLEANS?! It's so rare that anything ARGy ever happens here. *slams head on desk*

Heh. I was in NOLA for a week. The heart (Will) was only there for a couple days, I believe.

Ah, I love visitors. I hope you found the people easy going, and that the city met your demands. It has a tendency to be... vastly interesting for people who are not used to the difference. Well wishes from the Crescent City!
