If you notice the auto replies are not instant which means they aren't automatic. someone reads these things and when they find a relevent email that pops out as needing to be answered, they do, otherwise if it is long, or not important, they send out the standard reply.

There is no guarantee that auto-replies will be instant, fyi. Just like any email that could take longer than expected to reach its destination depending on relay and connection conditions... *shrug*

I was thinking since there are more than 4 of us in SoCal wanting to go to this SF Encom event, that having all of us chip in to rent a van would not only make things really easy, but also provide us all the most fun, pleasurable experience possible. Heres who i have so far:
SoCalSteve (myself)
Lyriclyinclined
tyr333
VanGoghX
confusion
RETOX ???
At this point i'm looking at $50 per person including van rental and gas. is this reasonable? If i missed anyone please let me know. for those of you i have listed, please let me know if you want a spot in the van.

If you folks round up a van, I imagine at least one of you will have a video camera. You should play it up a bit and take some shots along the way about your 'Encom infiltration' adventure. I'm sure you can find some other ways to have fun with it along the way.
Of course if one of you has a Mifi, at least 5 of you could be on the internet as you go too.

OT
I used to work in Customer service for a game company... we read through thousands of emails a day.... when a question was common, we had pre-formatted responses that we pasted in place and modified if needed.... not surprising that they'd do the same (due to the volume of messages)...

I'll strongly second this suggestion
One of the best parts of campaigns like this is creativity and fun - instead of just 'playing along', be a part of it and help really draw out the story and experience into reality...
As they say, "for a quality experience, the girl has to be real"

If you want to be really sneaky about it, be sure to rent a white Ford van and get a magnetic Encom logo to stick on the side. That ought to draw a little attention.

Euchre, thats genius!
sorry for not getting back to you guys sooner, was waiting to find out if my roommate was able to go... He's going and it looks like we're just going to take the Hybrid (just a 2 seater ).... regardless, hopefully this allowed additional people to go... still trying to figure out what to do for stay if anyone has suggestions or offers please let me know...
furthermore, I suggest anyone still trying to work something out, or with additional seats to fill to get online in the chat room at 7pm, pacific time on Wednesday (as PM's seem to take at least a day to get responded to)...
Hope to see you all there! ... oh and might I suggest, Unfiction name badges? lol... might be fun if anyone has them lying around!

Ok, here's my shot to get in good with the peeps on the ground. If you guys want name tags I can create them for you using the font from the Flynn Lives logo. I basically recreated it on my own out of sheer nerdiness and would be willing to hook you guys up with your name if you're interested. Shoot me a PM, and be kind, I have a feeling I might get bombarded.

Has a specific meeting place and time been decided on? Before the actual conference that is.
On the "[LIVE EVENT] Encom Conference?" thread, Euchre mentioned meeting up at Vaillancourt Fountain. I think that works. Like at 5-6 PM? I don't even mind going earlier.
What do you guys think?

If you werent taking a hybrid you could always sleep in the van!
okay assuming i can convince RETOX (and roommate) to leave the "prius" in the garage and go with us, that leaves 1 seat open. so far i have:
Me+1, Kira, & Colin...
anyone interested, let me know. my +1 might end up a +0 as well.
