I'm due East of SF in the Sierra foothills, between Sac and Tahoe. I had 2 inches of snow in the yard, this morning, when I left for work.

I dunno... Maybe 42's mad at me for picking up the SF cash stash during STI. But, I waited around for like a half hour for anybody else to show up and nobody did.

OH NO! THE CHEAP SEATS!!
at a LIVE EVENT!!!!!
HOLY ^%!@#$!!!!
THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE!!
Shocked
You would much rather be like the rest of us who don't live anywhere nearby and thus are completely unable to attend (sans live feed).

Lets see... badge and CAN'T attend...
or
No badge and CAN attend...

geee... let me get out my scale for this one...

good point socalsteve...
maybe find out who's gonna be there extra early, and see if they'll message or call ya if your badge is there, and then you can rocket-blast to the event if it is...

ooh good call! but i mean wouldnt the freebies be worth the drive anyway? not to mention, adding the live event to your list of awesome things you saw in your life. even if it is from the cheap seats.

Please do. Just balance it against my experience and not yours.

Ripped-off? Set-up? If Zack emailed me and told me I had a badge waiting, I'd probably go. I'm not sure, anymore. I still have the day off work.

What freebies? Zack doesn't know me from Adam without a badge.
Or maybe he really does have truckloads for all of San Francisco and I do still have a chance at some swag.
And, Ive seen a lot of awesome things in my life. Granted, not a lot of them were free...

Sure. If all you worry about is getting swag, and being one of the "special" people, then you're never going to have any fun.
You'll just sit at home going "MAN! I wish I could go there and get ____, but since I can't muster the guts to even TRY, because I don't have a badge yet, I'll just sit at home and whine."
And then you end up missing out on the EXPERIENCE and SWAG, instead of just the swag; which you can always trade for later.

WonderCon is a large event, there will be how many thousands? I don't know, a lot.

And then, a year from now, when people ask me if I'd seen Tron Legacy? I'll go off on my half hour long story about how I did all these bad-ass (albeit 'nerd-y') things. And they'll inevitably ask me, "Wow! Let me know the next time you do something like that, please?"

ok? ok.

If you look at the amount of shirts, and shirts ALONE that 42E handed out at the NY & Chi bat-signal events, you would can see they obviously have enough to go around, and then some.

balance: I'd rather have no badge and still be able to go, because there's a pretty good chance I'd still be satisfied with the experience, at the end.

Thousands? Gee. I was thinking more along the lines of hundreds. I feel so much better.

I don't know why this is sticking in my craw so bad. But it is.
I guess because it was all so avoidable.

It's San Francisco. There's more open Wifi access there than any other city in the nation I believe. Wouldn't be that hard to grab a laptop and log into your FL account right in front of 'Zack' and be sure that even if you can't pass the Encom preferred seating test, you can at least talk them out of some swag.

Have faith.

On a side note, have you ever eaten at Cafe' Via d'Oro? I am guessing it's still open.

If Rogi is going to join the Encom van and doesn't have a badge, he could be your 'abductee' discussed in the IRC chat. That'd make a funny video, a bunch of Encom employees tossing some guy with a Flynn Lives protest sign in a van with an Encom badge on the side. Based on what I know of the area, I would guess Rogi would have to catch up about Los Banos.

Never been to Cafe' Via d'Oro. The one in Sutter Creek? That's about 40 miles from me.
The SF Ferry Terminal is due west of me, 125 miles.

If I hadn't gotten a haircut, last week, I might have been a good candidate for a protester. Now, I look much more the graying "corporate executive" type.

Still no badge, acknowledgment of a problem or email with a workaround.

I have to wonder whether the poor design for this aspect of the campaign is Disney's doing or 42's.

i doubt disney has anything to do with this other than funding. probably a 42E issue.
