answer is still hazy

Something I just noticed in the e-mail response is there is another acrostic. Either KANEPIC or ANEPIC, depending on if you count the first line. I wonder if that's just a coincidence or not.

If not, could be a reference to Citizen Kane the movie- which was loosely based on William Randolph Hearst who owned the San Franciso Examiner and the New York Journal. Or it could be a page out of my hometown and kane (Kah-nay) referring to a man. The running man perhaps? But the voicemail message said to ignore the blog. Hmm.

If it's ANEPIC, then there are a couple of things: a MySpace page by an Aussie band, Alec Schmidt who is a graphic artist (but no ARG-y related things as of yet) and others. Or just an epic...meaning it's an epic game!

The world may never know. And I too, wonder what he prepares for.

Ernest's Twitter account has a new tweet which is a Wikitionary entry for "playing possum."

So Ernest is still on the run and laying low I think. Upon further reflection, I did a search on Twitter and found this possibly new account for Ernest. No tweets in this new account yet, but it's apparently being followed by verified!Mandy Moore.

We'll have to see how things progress. I wonder if we should try calling or e-mailing Ernest again.

I got the above e-mail too!

Taking a quick look at the cipher, seems like this might be a playfair cipher ala National Treasure? Hmm. You need a box in order to solve it, as well as the passphrase. Perhaps the phrase is NEWS?

NEWS- that's the sequence! The sequence order should go N-line, E-line, W-line and S-line. Gimme a moment to figure out what the text stream is though...

Did we just fail?

Still working on that crypto-puzzle, but I'm wondering if by not solving it we totally just failed? A new tweet from Enrest says simply U2B.

Aftering doing a quicko search I came up with Ernest's videos. Looks like he's being followed? Maybe we still can set things up if we crack the code?
